The key pad code we were given upon arriving in the cold wet rain didn't work. After repeated calls to the manager and many different codes - it took 25 minutes of standing in the rain and cold before he found a code that worked
.The heater in the bedroom did not work. We were told someone would come to look at it. So we went to supper and returned 2 hours later to find that it still wasn't working and the manager acted like it was a new problem and would send someone - no time offered.
 We went to use the TV and it didn't work either - no service - no source identified - again the manager said that this mystery person would look at it....still no specific time as to when this service person would show up.  
When we informed the manager we were not going to stay no refund was offered. Eventually the second night was refunded but not the first, even though we did not stay there.

Disaster from the start

Stayed at the apartment from 13 May 2018 for 2 night stay.   The apartment was very clean and the host was lovely.  We had probs with our car and he helped us try to find a garage and he was accommodating in that we were able to stay an extra night, thank you.  The apartment is close by to all amenities, like shops, pubs, restaurants, ferry and the train station opposite.  Okay, the view wasn’t great but it was very clean, comfortable and suited us.  Would definitely stay again.

In short, avoid this rental. I invite you to read the rest if it tempts you anyway. First of all, no one was there to welcome us. When we entered the room, we came across a dirty room! (Tached mock-up), the walls were soaked in moisture, the ceiling was sphering. No equipment present in the room except a kettle only. Lights that don't work and a room to share with spiders a little bit and all their fabrics that go well. The bathroom is also very dirty. The shower basin had some moisture and humidity.

Mediocre

It looks like I am the first person to rate this accommodation here on Tripadvisor.  There is a lot to like, with a few complaints.  The location is fantastic, within viewing distance of the castle.  The kitchen had everything we needed, the apartment was big, and we always found street parking nearby.  unfortunately, the room was quite dirty, the blankets were not washed and smelled strong.  There is a small washing machine in the room, but the blanket wouldn't fit in it. All in all, the pros outweigh the cons, and the owner Kelvin is very nice.  So, overall I would give Penmarnja a positive review.
