We had a wonderful holiday in the Pension Gradenburg. Edith and Anna were the perfect hosts and nothing was a problem. The location, the ambience, the hospitality, the delicious meals and the bus from outside the door in the morning made for a  superb holiday for all of us. A big thank you.

Lech 2020/2021

Lech is fantastic on so many levels, it’s probably THE single best resort I have skied at. The variety of runs, both groomed and off-piste, combined with great Austrian hospitality and a wide choice of huts is worth returning for alone. But what makes skiing in Lech a particular highlight is the warm welcome and genuine hospitality at Pension Gradenburg. Although the rooms are not up to the latest standard, they do offer a unique and authentic charm rarely found these days. The overall atmosphere at Gradenburg is wonderfully familial, thanks to Anna, Edith and their team (especially Resi, the resident chef of 34 years who treats you to a wonderful five-course meal every night!) and most guests have become loyal patrons over the years. The Gradenburg doesn’t have (or need) a pool but offers a small sauna and steambath, both perfect to unwind before heading up to the restaurant. 

Although you can’t ski out from the Gradenburg (a shuttle service will drive you to the lifts, otherwise the ski bus leaves from just down the street) you can easily ski in until the front door. 

I won’t stay anywhere else in Lech!

Charming and delightful

It's the eleventh time we've been to Gradenburg and we're feeling extremely well, as always! Edith and Anna are the perfect hosts and the food is excellent. Always happy! A relaxed and relaxing ski week can be very enjoyable here. You feel almost at home.

Almost like home.

What a great choice it was to stay at Pension Gradenburg. Anna and her mother were such wonderful hosts . The Pension sits at the end of a driveway with wonderful views of the mountains and the village below. The food was superb with three choices for dinner every night. All the people staying there were so friendly and many we talked with have been coming back for years and we can see why. Anna drove us to the ski lift each morning and then we took the free bus back to the place which runs every 10 minutes. Anna was so helpful with us regarding suggesting ski runs to take and making a reservation for us one night in Lech as Wednesdays they do not serve dinner. You might consider making a reservation ahead for that night as places fill up in town. We went to Salzburg after Lech and Anna helped us make some great restaurant choices there as well. This is a wonderful choice to stay for a fabulous ski vacation in the Ahlberg. Skiing was breath-taking and the food on the mountain so authentically Austrian.

Amazing-Great Value

We were unfortunately only a week-end extended to enjoy nature, the sun and try the track with the bobs, but we would have been happy to stay for a week. Located very beautiful at the end of Lech, but not far from the center and still well reached by the municipal bus (about every 15 minutes). Stopped right under the house leading to the cable car. Or else there is the shuttle of the pension every morning. The guesthouse is very cozy and full of small decorative features. Rooms with balconies are large enough. The breakfast is very inviting and full of leckers and is served in several well furnished and full of morning light. The (5 doors) then transforms into a dream bed emphasized by the kitchen appliances and heating lights.

Family-owned jewelry pension

We stayed in the second week of March and it was the perfect stay for what we were looking for. The hotel is a 10 minutes walk from the center of lech, or 3' bus drive, which is perfect when preferring a quiet but still central place. A hotel shuttle to the lifts is included in the mornings & one can almost ski in front of the Pension, so for skiers this place is perfect. The personnel is very nice and overall, it has a friendly, cosy atmosphere. The room and facilities are fair, we booked the small room, which however had a stunning view. The food is exceptional. We once ate a 5* hotel and it could not compete with the quality in the Pension Gradenburg. So overall the perfect fit for people who want to enjoy an active week in the mountains (the hotel is a bit on a hill of the Main Street-but not more than 80m), and who prefer a personal touch to high-end hotels. 

Perfect place for skiing & food

We stayed here in the first week of March. We paid more for the larger room which was worthwhile and more comfortable since we stayed more than a night or two. The hospitality was warm and excellent, all credit to Edith and Anna (who were excellent hosts) and their helpful and cheerful staff. Though located a short distance away from the busy Lech city centre, we don't find it inconvenient as the hotel provides a shuttle or we could take the free public buses which were quite frequent. Sometimes we just walked. We could also ski back to the back of a neighbouring hotel/house but we did not try. The food was great. Breakfast was plentiful and there was a wide variety. The 5 course set dinner was excellent too with good wines. The view from our room overlooking the valley was good. We sure hope to come back again next time we are in Lech.

Had a lovely one week stay

Great winter sports holidays at the Pension Gradenburg in Lech. Edith and Anne offered perfect hospitality and Teresia from Styria cooks wonderfully. Very cozy and well-equipped rooms. In the morning the hotel bus goes to the mountain railway. Excellent and varied breakfast and the 5-course in the evening is first class. A real trouvaille on the Arlberg!

Pure hospitality

We had a nice time at the Pension Gradenburg, a guesthouse decorated with a lot of love and warmth. A warm-hearted and hospitable owner welcomes them and shows them the hotel with great pride. The food is excellent. You can choose between two main walks. We will surely look past again.

Very relaxing skiing holiday

The small hotel at Lech's outskirts offers everything the skier desires: cozy, bright rooms, great cuisine and extremely friendly staff. For physical wellbeing, the sauna is also available. The breakfast buffet and the salad buffet in the evening do not leave any wishes open and if there is one, the charming chef ensures that every culinary wish is fulfilled.
