The boarding house is a very good starting point for skiing, the 2nd chair lockhead is perhaps 200 meters away, so it can be done in ski boots without any problems. In the other direction, the centre of town is also not far away. Numerous restaurants nearby, the hostess likes to give tips and even reserve a table for you while you are on the runway. Breakfast selection is manageable but sufficient, eggs are prepared a la minute on request.

Nice pension in good condition

Perfect Hotel for my ski vacation in Lech , close to restaurants , ski rental , Post Office , bus stop . Good size room and very clean , very good breakfast with coffee , tea , milk , breads , cold meat , cereal , yougurt , Nutella ,  juice , vegetables, eggs and bacon made especially for you , so you have to request, so everything that you need for a good day on the hills.
Birgit is a very kind lady and did everything to made us feel at home.

Perfect Place to be in Lech!!!!

A nice little bed and breakfast near the center of lech. The owner was a really friendly lady who had always good tipps what to do or where to go(especially when bad weather).
The room was clean and authentic with woods. Breakfast was more then u wish to have, mostly hard to decide what to go for. They didn't have a Bar but there were several in a couple of minutes by walk. 
It´s located right behind the Village-butcher, so if u couldn't make it for breakfast or want to have traditional Austrian food around midday you could just jump over. They have Balconies for hanging out in the afternoon sun. A ski room with heated boot-storage. The walk to the lift is about 1 minute - maximum comfort.
I highly recommend this B&B if u wanna be in the center for a fair price.

short trip

We have just stayed for one week's skiing at Haus Iris and were delighted with the service and accommodation. I had emailed prior to our arrival and Birgit was ready for our arrival.   Our room was in the second floor with lovely mountain views. The room was larger than many we've stayed in for skiing and was kept immaculately clean.  The bathroom was equipped with shower and sink, always with hit water. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a hairdryer so you can save some space in your luggage. The area is set back from the main street and is very quiet. The beds are super comfy with lovely duvets, we like the window open at night and we're very warm. The ski storage is totally secure,accessed with your room key and the boot room has heated boot rack.  Plenty of space for getting kitted up just outside the boot room in the warm and dry. Just a very short walk to the Schlosskopf chair lift (watch out it's the old fashioned type which can catch you unawares!) and the cable car to Ober Lech (two good options to get up the mountain). 

Breakfast was normal Austrian fare (muesli, cereals, cold meats, cheese etc) plus boiled eggs were offered every day - freshly boiled and delicious. Tea and coffee options were good including green tea, camomile tea etc.  Birgit had lots of information about things to do and always can give an up-to-date weather forecast. We were the only English guests that week but as Birgit speaks very good English that was no problem and I could try out some German. 

The only downside to our trip was not within the guesthouse's control; it was mega busy on the slopes, loads of kids, poor visibility and then some spring ski conditions you don't expect end Feb. Can't do much about the weather but suggest you check when Shrove Tuesday (pancake day) is and avoid the week it falls in. In Germany the kids get extra holidays that week which don't show up if you check school hols and the families all drive over to ski for the week. We have skied this area before later in the season and had fab snow and quiet slopes with sunny weather. 

Many of the bars were packed but would recommend 'Baristo' near Stolz shop for great service and a drink whilst watching the pisteurs do their work on the mountain (closes 9pm).   Also a trip up to Ober Lech one evening is fun. 

All in all a great stay. 



Super, friendly, exc value

If you are looking for a comfortable accommodation in Lech at an affordable price, you must look for... :))) The owner of the house Mrs. Bishop of Iris has created this very place in Lech. In a comfortable atmosphere, she offers your hotel exactly the mixture of warmth and service that will keep the holiday in good memory in terms of stays. While she remains discreet and takes care consistently of the extras that each of us has so much in our heart at the time of vacation. The small rooms are spacious, bright and clean. The room service is done when you are on the go. :) No matter what, the breakfast buffet is devoted to the attention you actually want to the snack.

Central, warm, decent and discreet at a good price, this is House Iris in Lech:)

I spent another year in this guesthouse. It is located in the heart of Lechs with parking in front of the house. Bus stations, shopping and dining are nearby. The host family takes their time and is happy to give information about the place. The breakfast is rich and the wishes are well met. The room is very beautiful with style, the whole house is cleanly maintained. The terrace invites me to relax. I always feel very comfortable with this loving family. Thomas, St. Gallen, Switzerland

Feeling well

Arriving on Saturday night, greeted by the hostess, spacious room, unpacked laundry in the bathroom and unplugged heating... until now we call ourselves bough it's fine. Sunday morning lunch with dry bread and sliced cheese prepared the day before too...we already like less. When we get home from skiing in the evening we find out that the room is not done!

Disappointing

My husband and I stayed for 8 nights last week whilst skiing in Lech. It was booked last minute via booking.com, and presented as considerably cheaper than other options available at the time in Lech, so we had an open mind upon arrival. We advised host Birgit of our arrival time (apparently booking.com doesn't do this even though you enter this). She was there upon our arrival, spoke great English and showed us to our immaculate and well sized room. Double sink in the bathroom and separate toilet a definite plus. Also had a safe, and tea and coffee facilities and a nice view. Heaps of steaming hot water in the bathroom for after skiing which is essential. Breakfast was great, the usual Austrian fare, but plenty of it, and the property is really well located close to both chairlift and gondola, and the centre of town. It has it's own ski and boot storage rooms. The boot room has heated boot racks which worked well - my boots were dry and warm to put on each morning. It's great the property is on the same level as the main street and chair lifts - as this means (unlike many other properties) you don't have to lug boots and skis uphill when returning home each night. Really thought this was a great 3 star place and would definitely return. Everything we saw there was spotlessly clean and well organised. Birgit was very knowledgeable about buses, skiing, facilities in town etc. She even had the daily weather forecast and local events listings on the front counter each day. Property is also close to a tasty butcher/delicatessen and Hotel Alpin Vital, where we enjoyed great food.

Fantastic B&B, good value (for Lech) in a great location in Lech

When we arrived, on a Sunday afternoon, there was no-one at the reception desk but a note told us where our rooms were.  Our two rooms were both very large and comfortable with bathroom and separate toilet.  However, the outside sitting area, shown on the website to be an attractive place to sit and relax, was grubby and littered with what looked to be cast off bits of junk and we had to clean the chair cushions before we could sit down.  There was also no sign of tea or coffee, although the website mentions they could be purchased, and no-one around to ask.

Breakfast was fine - fruit, cold cuts, pastries, cereal etc - but not spectacular - and we liked that Birgit wore a traditional dirndl when she supervised.

There was some construction going on nearby which was quite noisy but when that had finished for the day we could hear cowbells in the distance.

The location is great, just a few steps to the town centre.

Already for the second time at the Iris Pension and fully satisfied again! Beautiful room, super clean, cozy ambience, very good location - and a warm host family!!! Shifts, restaurants and shops are easily accessible on foot.
