We loved this hotel.  The layout is like a series of bungalows, there are even hammocks in some of the rooms.  The rooms are simple, but clean and well maintained.  The location is also great, right on the canal and within a few minutes walk of the downtown restaurant and shopping areas.  The breakfast was very good and we had no issues of any kind during our stay.

SO COZY 

Stayed two nights with a G Adventures tour.  While not that imposing from the road, once you get back into the pool area and villas, the pousada is well maintained and surrounded by flowering bushes.  The covered entries to the rooms contain a couple of chairs, a hammock, and drying rack for beach items.  The room itself was not that large nor was the bath.  The furnishings were rather basic, and the incentive was clearly to be out relaxing in the hammock or around the pool.  The hot water was sporadic, and the WiFi was iffy in the room, but much better in the pool area.  Towels are provided at the desk for going to the beach.  The breakfast was fairly comprehensive, and the items well prepared.  As others have noted, the place has a certain colonial appeal that goes along with Paraty and offers a peaceful oasis.  The restaurant/brew pub next door, Cabore, has an interesting selection of beers and food if you don’t feel inclined to walk into town.  The villas are a bit worn, and not all that comfortable, but the place as some charm.  We enjoyed it, and it certainly would be well suited for young families, of which there were many.

Garden Atmosphere

The Hotel is excelente. It's only about 500m across the Canal from Old Town. There is an execellent restaurant just beside the Hotel which makes its own beer named Caborê. The room was clean as well as the sheets and towels.  My only complaint is abou the maintenance: it deserves a better shower and new toilet lids.

VERY GOOD

The place is around 600 meters from the Old Town, but it is in a pleasant avenue with a canal and many trees. The hotel’s area is spacious and has an agreeable swimming pool, bar, restaurant, sauna, car parking and a special place for kids, with a big and amazing boat. The rooms are arranged in a way that looks like a real villa, with beautiful gardens and flowers around them. There are 3 different sizes and I recommend the biggest one, which has a separate TV room and a specific area for drying the wet swimming clothes (there is a good wi-fi only in the public areas). The breakfast is delicious and has a great variety of fruits, breads and juices. The restaurant is nice and offers its own local and handmade beer, which is made in the brewery next to the building, an interesting place that you can visit. The “Caborê” Beer (“owl”, in English) is made with Belgian hops and you can choose the 3 types: blonde, red and dark, because all of them are awesome! I totally recommend this place for couples and families!
