Worst Experience by reservation person Mr Pulkit Paliwal always ready to say in rude way on phone if I Complain about this he directly cut the call . Even we are also from hospitality. He never bother about this. That why we never want to stay this property.

Worst Experience By reservation My Pulkit

The hotel's location is around Pichola lake. The views are just serene for all the rooms. We requested for the one just near the lake and got one as we reached early. We were staying here for the second time. 

But the good things ends here, the hotel rooms are not in a very-good shape and needs lot of maintenance. The linens are dirty and torn, the seating spaces are dirty, peeling of paints and unresponsive staff. They switch off geyser after morning and you would have to request them again and again to switch it on. 
The restaurant chief is very rude and useless. Other staff seems to be helpful.

The approach to hotel is soo bad that you would feel you are on wrong path more than once. Although they arrange for your pick-ups via auto, the common parking facility that they use asks for 200 per night of parking charges that are exclusive of your room rent. 

All in all, the location of hotel is good, but only prefer to visit if you don't want to tour Udaipur and just chill and relax. The autos here would charge exorbitant fares that you would prefer to stay in your rooms instead. 

Do try the yummy Laal Maas in their restaurant which is by far the best Laal Maas that I have tasted in Udaipur! 

Suggestion to hotel management: You have a raw diamond in your hand, don't spoil it, polish it and preserve it.

Raas Leela Not a Luxury Camps

It's my sincere advise to not to go with fake postive reviews.This is not boutique hotel but rule bidden hostel where they teach you rules from the time you checking.
Property is too far from market in narrow lane with no transport.
No room service as you are not allowed to take any in room nor order as per their rules.
Too rude staff always tell you rules and they will listen you only if you give them bribe.
Buffet breakfast is not buffet,but you can choose only one item and for kids you not allowed to take anything.i paid Rs 200 for pranths for my kid.
Dirty rooms with no hygiene .
Only thing which is good is it's view from its garden otherwise everything is worst.

Worst property...No room service... Unlimited rules

We stayed in one of the camps in the Raas Leela camp during the month of Feb 2021. We initially intended to book for 3 days. The staff on the phone insisted to pay in FULL for the 3 days to confirm booking, We chose not to pay, instead checked it out before paying for a single night. First and foremost Ras Leela was not the cozy place as represented in the images on their website or online booking site. We've had previous experiences of unethical youtubers selling guests sham accommodations to earn a quick buck and a free stay, so we were glad we did not go with the review of the youtuber girl who mentioned this place. I'll make it short:

Cons: 

Getting there: Getting to the camp is challenging when you have luggage. The taxis stop at a temple from where we had to catch an auto for the reminder of the journey. The narrow lanes are water logged and dirty from an ongoing project. Thanksfully we had our masks on. Hotel experience starts on a bad note. 

Service quality: Restaurant staff stayed away and were not approachable. When they took orders for food, they took it grudgingly. The glasses were not clean and the bottles filled with dust and rust. The place was empty most of the time we were there. By evening, there was half a dozen guests in the restaurant. We would have accepted their lack of enthusiasm to take food orders or serve, if the food was  decent, but no, the food was below average.

Heat during the day: The lack of shady trees makes it difficult to stay out during the day. The heat got to us so quickly, we retreated into the room, as quickly as we got out. The aircon in the tent helped.

Deplorable hygiene: Close to dusk, overflowing drainage filled the air with unbearablly nauseaous vomit inducing smell. Our eyes burnt and head hurt from state of decomposition of whatever was in those lines. After a lot of arguing, they changed rooms. Despite having no shortage of rooms, they still werent willing to give it away at first. Like the an earlier reviewers mentioned, the staff expects us the adjust to the terrible smeel and live with it. Thank God we had not paid in full for 3 days. Instead paid for just one night and left the place early next morning. We did not risk having their breakfast. 

Pros: The view is good. But clearly not worth the inconvenience and hassle. It was like the staff hated customers and would do whatever they could to make the stay difficult, after the room is paid. Yes, they tried their best to take the rent for all 3 days in advance, so we cant do anything but quietly suffer after a few complaints.

Unhygienic Camping Ground

Our first ever trip to Rajasthan was supposed to be our first experience of supposedly romantic Rajasthan and Rajasthani hospitality. What eventually ensued was an experience that led to us leave Rajasthan vowing never to return again. We chose the Raas Leela camp based on a YouTube video, which showed a beautiful location. During the video, the reviewer could be seen changing rooms, which we didn't think about this much at the time, until we got there & checked in.

1. The staff offered us a room that was all good upon check-in. It was too weak to notice on check-in at noon, but there was growing stench in the room that got gradually worse towards the afternoon. It smelt like an overflowing sewage line that filled the room starting with the bathroom with unbearable stench. We traced the source to the drains in the bathroom. We started to have a headache and exited the room. We believed it would go away when we returned.

2. The booking was a nonrefundable one through Agoda. On repeated requests to resolve the unsanitary condition, they sprayed air freshner and left the fresher for future use. They knew it would not go away and expected us to adjust to it. We sat outside waiting & expecting it would subside.

3. The smell intensified and spread further to rooms next to us. Our headaches got worse and we sat at the furthest corner of the ground far away from the room. Rooms next to us were unoccupied. They only had to ignore us & we were fully paid. It was late afternoon, but there was only 2 other occupants apart from us. The section of the camp where the stench had not reached, had a few empty rooms, which they chose to tell us were occupied. 

4. Staff asks us to leave the exhaust fan on overnight. We went out to get some headache pills.

5. Already 7 hours into the ordeal, we decided we can't take it any further. When we about to leave, we informed an elderly gentleman (who was not there previously) at the front desk about our ordeal, who offered another room away from the stench. This was one of the rooms the staff had earlier insisted was occupied. We moved to the room, but by then we were sick in the stomach & had a spitting headache and were considering other options.

6. As we kept convincing ourselves to stay on for a single night, a staff comes knocking at the door asking for the water bottles from the previous room. He was referring to the complimentary bottles from the room we had checked in 7 hours back and had been used. That was the last straw. We handed the used bottle and called Agoda. By the way, Agoda is accessible only on an international number.

7. Agoda contacted the hotel and requested hotel to cancel the next day's booking. The hotel lied to Agoda we were making it all up to secure an upgrade. Agoda might not have noticed, that it is a camping ground they were talking to with a single category of tents spread along the edge of a ground and no upgrade options. Maybe there was, but we were not aware. We just wanted to get out of the sewage camp.

8. We rang the 5 star property nearby, picked up the bags, which were still unpacked and walked out. The headache slowly subsided as we settled into our comfortable new room far away from the sewage camp. 

We eventually realised that locals (especially the staff) are comfortable with stench and unsanitary conditions. The smells we found unbearable, they found normal. They expect tourists to adjust to it. Despite the risk of Covid-19 infection, no one wore face masks. The streets leading to the hotel which were scattered with dirt & debris, some sections water logged with filthy water were normal for them. But the streets didn't smell as bad as the rooms in Ras Leela. During check-in when the stench was too weak to be noticed, we had a bad vibe about the camp. Despite peak season, it was nearly empty. The view is good (see photo) but people were keeping away. All restaurants in the neighbourhood were full, except this one in Ras Leela. Now we realise why the Youtuber was forced to change rooms during their stay. Since they got paid for the review, they probably ended up skipping the part were they smelt something wrong. We ended up paying the price. We did not receive a refund, as Ras Leela rejected multiple requests for refund. It cost us Rs.11,400.

We were cautious all during our travel in Rajasthan. Locals everywhere in Rajasthan cheat every chance they get. After realising the extent to which locals were found cheating and offering guests unsanitary conditions to be normal, we vowed not to return to Rajasthan again.

Filthy Sewage Camping Ground With a View

Some times external factors impact the property in a very positive as well as negative manner. This property is also highly dependent on external factors. On one hand, the approach to the resort is just not acceptable as the roads are too narrow and on top of it they are dug up due to WIP of Udaipur Smart City. On the other hand the resort has lake pichola view which partially covers up for the loss of approach. 

The property has very few rooms / cottages. We were offered room 107 which is a big room with no tub but direct view of lake. From the property you can view Lake Palace and Jag Mandir. The resort demands some renovation as lot of furniture is faded. 

If you book this place, avoid going to restaurants like Ambrahi as the restuarant/ lawn of Raas Leela offers similar view and the food is also decent. Mr. Shakti Singh is the manager and does a very good job. 

Nice stay

Very Poor Accesible Location, very hard to reach. The hotel is situated at the end of lake, gives picturistic views, but it is very hard to reach there, its entrance is very badly made accesible only through walking least 1 km through narrow dirty streets only wide upto 2m max. Also it offers only great food and can be considered as a restaurant only as it doesn't offer any service beyond average. Hotel has 8 cottages, with minimum basic amenities, however lakes smell due to garbage most of the time and area is full of insects and mosquitoes. Not recommendable.

Terrible Location and Poor Accessibility

Had our 5th Anniversary here. 3days..3 days worth spent. Envious location..wonderful staff..= Value. We have been places. And this is one we want a Re. Our 2 yr old kid enjoyed like anything :D. Last not the least great food. Thanks guys. Stay same guys plz.

Its The place to be..

Its an extremely shady place with a dhaba kind of atmosphere and staff is the worse you can see. Not at all worth going. Food is mediocre. They should shut shop. The food is cold. The serve alcohol
