Nice place

+ The hotel has nice clean rooms, which are quiet and point to the nice garden by the lagoon. The beach, which you can reach in 10-15 minutes on foot, is lonely and beautiful, although it is partly muddy, there are no shops and you can find no shade anywhere except at the fence of the large resort - the staff is nice, but unfortunately completely incompetent. We needed a bus ticket to Colombo (an AC bus a day) for which they wanted to buy us a ticket. Although we said three (!) times that we needed a ticket, they forgot.

Nice hotel, poor service

The cabin is affordable for the price you pay, away from the beach and without any incentive, it is just.The food however leaves quite a lot to be desired...we order rice curry and we were brought rice cutry... malo y seco.There are quite better places in Nilaveli although they cost a little more.

Poor food, a shallow cabin.

The beach is about 20 min by foot away. However the path there leads along wild grassland far away from "paradise". The beach is dirty, only hotels directly situated on the beach clean it for their guests. No sunbed rental services available on the beach, also no bars or stands. 
Also there is hardly any touristic infrastructure nearby in Nilaveli. No bars, hardly any restaurants or shops outside of the hotels. 
The only exception is the "that's why beach bar", which we can strongly recommend. 

We decided to move on to the Uppuveli beach, as it is more lively with better infrastructure, especially in the area around "Fernando's bar". 

Regarding the guest house:
Rooms are ok. Breakfast was nothing special: toast bread, jam, butter, egg, fruits. 
English conversation was practically impossible. Eg. We did not manage to make them understand that we would prefer sri lanka style breakfast.

Disappointing location

Very spacious rooms, quite clean. Medium comfortable mattresses, a little too hard. Air conditioning and ventilator, it's very good because it's hot. One mosquito net for 2 beds. No towels and sheets when we arrived. Large bathroom, unfortunately there were ants, no hot water. Nice private terrace. Very medium meals. We were very well received even though English was approximate. We booked the excursion to Pigeon Island at a preferential rate. The place is located just outside the road so quiet, 10 minutes from the beach which is very convenient. A kitchen to improve, small details in the room and we change the category.

Unfavourable price ratio

It's a small hotel that doesn't pay for a mine but it was one of my best addresses in Sri Lanka. Very spacious and clean rooms, with a small terrace where you can have tea in the evening. The view of the lagoon is splendid, and the beach is only ten minutes' walk away! Very friendly staff.

Nice address in Nilaveli.

We stayed in this guesthouse for 3 days and will be happy to come back. The place is very quiet with a nice garden. We can even see a few eagles in the morning hunting over the lagoon. The rooms are clean and spacious. An old gentleman even offered us to take a boat tour for 45 minutes - 1 hour on the lagoon to see the sunset, the eagles etc. but we didn't have time to do it (1,000 rupees per person). The manager and staff are very friendly and fold in 4 to help us.
