It's a wonderful location, a stylish renovation recently done, a stunning terrace on the rooftop (we ate breakfast and drank wine after dinner), but the main attraction is the hosts! friendly, European educated guys with great English.

If it's Istanbul, then it's only Rapuncel!

I stayed in the big girls rooms (3 bunk beds) with two of my friends in December during our visit to Istanbul. 

The hostel is located quite good to visit the most popular places in Istanbul, but not in that way that there is a lot of noise. It is very close to Galata tower and the surrounding nice restaurants and shops.

When we were there, the room wasn't full and we had good room mates, which made it a very quiet and calm relaxing stay. It might be different depending on who is staying there with you, ofcourse.
The beds were basic but good. Each person has his/her own locker which is a little on the small side, so it might be good to also have a lock on your suitcase so that you could put stuff there as well.
The bathroom is clean and spacey enough. The door didn't close that well though, but if you pulled hard enough it was ok.

The hostel offers a free breakfast which is made up out of cereals, bread, cucumber, tomatoes, cheese, jam, cookies, coffee and tea. You can eat as much as you want.
Also they offer free tea and coffee during the day, which is very nice.

The hostel has also a roof terrace with a beautiful view. Because of this we didn't even bother to climb the galatatower (and wait in a huge line to do so) as we were already very happy with a similar view at our hostel.

Also the staff is really nice. They help you as much as they can and will answer every question to the best of their knowledge.

The price/quality was very good, I would definitely recommend this hostel to everyone thinking of paying Istanbul a visit!

Well located hostel with friendly staff

Rapunzel is a fantastic hostel - the location is perfect!  It is just around the corner from Galata Tower and close walking distance to all parts of the city (both old for sightseeing & new for nightlife).  The bed was comfortable & the room/bathroom very clean and the terrace has a fantastic view!  The hostel staff were also very helpful and friendly.  Highly recommended.

Perfect Location

Very nice hostel with a large roof terrace. The staff is friendly and always helpful, breakfast is good too. If I come back to Istanbul, then of course to the Rapunzel Hostel.

I highly recommend it.

Very cozy hostel, with good rooms, a little narrow, as well as stairs. But staff and weather compensate. The terrace is privileged, with a fantastic view. There you can meet the travelers, have a good beer and have a conversation outside.

This is a fantastic terrace.

The hostel is located in the heart of the trendy and historic Galata district. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially regarding the recent terrorist attacks and keeping guests safe and well informed. The terrace is gorgeous and the complimentary breakfast is refreshing. Would 100% recommend for anyone. best hostel in Istanbul.

Friendly, safe, and centrally located

I was stuck between two options: a first line sea view apartment or a double room in the Rapunzel Hostel (same price). I will choose the same option over and over. The rooms are not awesome, but are clean and big enough. The stuff is super super nice, attentive and friendly. We could chat with one of their receptionist for a couple of hours while having a tea. We also used a guide they have in their little library which was super useful, the same as the stuff´s tips. 10 in value for money. Highly recommended. The breakfast in the rooftop was price.

Excellent location, better stuff

This was our favourite by far! the staff were so helpful and welcoming, the breakfast in the morning was amazing and the rooftop bar was a great place to have a cocktail and meet new people. amazing views over Istanbul! Great location, walking distance to everywhere you need to be and cute markets and restaurants withing 50m. The rooms were clean and wifi was available everywhere, not just in the lobby! Loved it!

We've met divinely, the girl and the boy who run the hostel are kind, friendly, available and above all always smiling; for those who seek comfort, discouragement, for those who seek life, youth, laughter and fun, this hostel is the top.

The coolest hostel in Istanbul

The photos don't match the reality, the rooms are small and the beliches made a lot of noise and mingled. The Wi-Fi almost didn't work! The breakfast is international when I was waiting for a Turkish coffee. Besides, the location is very good, with good restaurants around.
