Average hotel for those looking for (quality/price), wifi lobby only, fast laundry service correct price, room for 3 people not very big but good it's just for sleeping, it's located near the al nabawi masjid in front door 7 we go through the market (souk) to get there quickly.

I have read too many negative comments in here before i traveled to Madinah for Umrah as it was the hotel that our agent had booked us in, so basically i was prepared for the worst as i was travelling together with our family of 9 people including kids. 
After staying at the Amjad Asalaam hotel for 5 years, i honestly thing some of the reviewers are being too harsh, apart from the arrogant Egyptian restaurant supervisor and the slow WI-Fi (which i did use much as i had a Saudi sim card), everything else was ok for me. The check in process was ok, Rooms big enough and beds comfy, hot water was available from the showers. The bengali housekeepers were very friendly, had a few chats with some of them as they cleaned the rooms, nice chaps, i had them take our laundry to the dry cleaners and the price was reasonable.
Location of the hotel is superb, a few minutes walk to Masjid Nabawi either to gate 7 from the front of the hotel of gate 8 through the market from the rear of the hotel, we loved walking back via gate 8 so we could do some shopping at the market on our way back although we found gate 7 most peaceful when going for Salah as it is straight to Bab Salaam.
Many shops right outside the hotel with a tea/shawarma vendor just next door. a few pharmacies nearby and a forex exchange shop directly opposite the hotel.The lifts work alright though a bit busy before/after prayers which is understandble.
All in all. Amjad Alsalaam was pretty much ok for us as all we wanted was a hotel close to the Masjid .

Close enough to Masjid Nabawi

I had confirmed booking but when I reached there, they said they are full and don't have any room available, then they asked to wait for the hotel manager for 3 hours, after 2.5 hours they said they don't have any room available and they won't let me meet the manager. I complained to the booking website, they tried to contact Amjad Al Salam Hotel but there was no response.

They didn't give me a room

We were told that this was a 4 star hotel. Infact , it doesn't deserve more than 2.Though the room layout of the 4 beds for 4 people was okay, there was a bad smell. We hard a hard time charging our phones as the sockets were too loose. The beds weren't omfortable for tall people, especially. The reception area was very small and always busy with a constant smell of tobacco.  Internet connection was very slow and lost most of the time, it works only in the reception area. The distance to the Masjid Nabawi was good walking distance to gate 7 or 8.

Needs renovation

The hotel was expensive, dirty, smelly and had terrible service.  We had to walk through clouds of cigarette smoke every time we came in or out. The parking was one-way in and out and very narrow. There was no complimentary hot water, coffee, tea or even any water bottles in the room. The bathroom had body wash, but no shampoo and there were 8 mothballs: 4 behind the toilet and 4 under the sink. I reserved through Booking.com and my name has not come up on the website, or I would leave a bad review there as well.

Amjad Alsalam/Amjaad Al-Salam: Worst ever!

The hotel is relatively clean, its location in relation to the mosque is almost perfect because it is just a hundred meters away on the main Essalem street the rooms are clean but the service is not done regularly, just for garbage collection the restaurant is to be avoided because the food is not fresh because delivered by caterers and without much choice as well as breakfast which is in its simplest expression on the contrary the hotel is relatively quiet
