I love this place, very quiet, quite natural, very welcoming staff, a very nice little bar with good coffee, indispensable after a SUP session  ♂️😎 several water activities are possible there 🙏

Very nice family hostel, quiet and relaxing place, friendly staff, good cleaning and well-equipped breakfast.

Relaxing and pleasant stay

We loved our little weekend break at this hostel, travelling with my husband and 3 kids (age 11,11,13) it was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere the ladies on duty were so nice and helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
There is a drinks machine in the dining area where you can help yourself to hot drinks at your convenience, the kids loved the hot chocolate!!
The room was spacious and clean, basic but that’s what we wanted and was pleased with it. 
It’s based on a lake which is very pretty and a lovely view from the room. 
It’s about a 18min bus ride to t zand on the 23 bus which is on the main road outside the hostel. Then a 10 minute walk to the centre, Free bus on weekends during the Christmas markets. 
Would recommend this hostel and would use again if we ever visit Bruges again. 

Clean and friendly

I only stayed one night but I loved it. Everything was very clean. A very nice breakfast. A fabulous view. But what stood out above all was the friendliness and availability of the hostel owners from the moment I booked.

Absolutely fantastic

We stayed at Hostel Domein Aan de Plas for one night. It was truly a wonderful place to stay. The staff, Caroline and Jacinta, are genuinely nice and attentive people, and really make you feel like home since the very first moment you meet them. The rooms are clean and spacious, with an amazing view to a lake. It feels really awesome to wake up hearing the ducks in the morning. Before getting there I thought the place was a bit far from city center, but you can get there in 10 minutes with a bus (23) and it is perfect to scape the sometimes overcrowded Brugge. The area is super safe and quiet. Breakfast was really good and assorted as well, delicious scrambled eggs! I won't consider any other place to stay if I ever come back to Brugge. Thank you Caroline and Jacinta! 

What a wonderful place to stay

Only stayed 1 night as we were in Brugge for the Ice Spectacular and Christmas Market. What a hidden gem!  Even the taxi driver hadn't realised it was there.  Short walk to the bus stop, and a 10 minute trip into Brugge. It's basic with a large bedroom and plenty of bed selection but has en-suite facilities that are perfectly adequate.  Our beds were made up when we arrived but were advised that there is no service should we be staying longer than 1 night. Towels were in the room for our shower (the pressure was fantastic),It was lovely and quiet as "off the beaten track" and the view over the lagoon is spectacular.  I can't fault it (not that I want to) and the continental breakfast the next morning was delicious. Hot drinks were available through the night and a hot chocolate was very appreciated when we came in from dinner.  Our room was toasty warm and the bedding was clean and crisp and cosy. Understandably, if you are expecting luxury you will be sadly disappointed but it's a hostel, and a great one at that.  All I can say is thank you so much, it was a lovely stay.

What a lovely hidden gem!

Quiet place in a beautiful location to visit Brugge downtown. We were in September 2016. You can park there without problems and the staff was very friendly!

Great place!

The view from the room, the breakfast and the staff - Ms. Caroline were just great. Beds were clean and comfortable. Room was a dormitory. Not luxurious of course and could be a little bit cleaner.
Bus 23 goes just next to the building but its not regular - 3 in hour and on Sunday before noon just one per hour. It takes around 20 mins to reach city center by bus.
If you don't have bath towel you have to pay 3,5 euro for it.
Just don't forget its a hostel and you will not be disappointed.

Cheap for Brugge and with a great view

Nice big rooms with big bathrooms, a lovely view of the water from the patio doors, underfloor heating, comfortable beds, accommodating and friendly staff. It's a ten minute drive into Bruges so you do need a car.

I hadn't stayed in a hostel in a long time so I forgot that some things are not included in the price like the beds not being made up. I really don't like having to make my own bed when I've been traveling for hours. Even if I hadn't been traveling for hours, no adult enjoys paying to make their own bed. Maybe save the bed making for when large parties of children come and stay to give them something to do. We also had to strip the bed in the morning and carry their sheets to deposit them in a box in the lobby.

Also, towels are also not included in the price of the booking which is also annoying especially seeing as the hostel isn't all that cheap. Towels should be included in the price. The underfloor heating was great but there was no way (that I could see) to turn it down so it was insufferably hot all night and the only ventilation was the patio doors which I didn't want to leave open all night.

The hostel is right across the street from a farm with cows. We'd noticed the overabundance of flies when we first got to the hostel. What we didn't count on was that they'd be crawling all over the breakfast bread, croissants, etc the next morning as nothing was covered up. This should be resolved immediately as flies are a health hazard.

The best thing about this is that it's good value for Bruges as Bruges itself is an overpriced town.

Warm Rooms, No Towels, Unmade Beds, Flies

Since 2010 we stay here every year for a weekend with a large group of musicians. The rooms are clean with an own shower and an own toilet. When you open the curtains in the morning, you see 'Sint-Pietersplas' which I really adore. Breakfast is included. What you get, is what is normal in a youth hostel. But as we keep coming back, I think it is clear that this is a good place to spend a weekend. Especially when you like watersports or tranquility.
