My husband and I stayed here for two nights while exploring the Yukon. This hotel is in the center of Whitehorse. The room was clean. A microwave and fridge are available. No breakfast in the morning, but a number of restaurants are nearby. The bed was hard, and the pillows were flat -- it was difficult to fall asleep because the bed was so uncomfortable. 

Two Night Stay

Basic motel. The bed was comfy. The facility is some what Dated and could use a deep clean around the edges and a bit of maintenance. The room had a portable air con. Staff were welcoming and friendly rates are low and reflective of the space. Wi fi available in your room.

Basic but fine

I had a pleasant stay there in June on our way to Alaska. Nice clean rooms but the parking sucks in front, very tight. The staff was very nice and helpful. On our way back in July we went there again but they were full, so I had to go somewhere else.

Stratford Motel 401 Jarvis St, Whitehorse, Yukon

Being a non-smoker, it was a Big surprise to see that the room had no smell at all. I mean literally Zero smell which is very rare in such type of motels. Compliments to the hotel management 

Another good thing was unlimited internet good for all our devices
It is a basic motel otherwise, limited number of channels in TV and had a microwave and coffee maker.

(Note: Transparent Plastic cups were provided which are not suitable for hot beverages and can melt).

Nice and clean motel

Stodgy person at the front desk, and mediocre room with mediocre furnishings. I found this room to be barely adequate, and not quite adequate to make me happy at all. The appropriate star rating is 2.5 stars to 3.0 stars.

Mediocre

The price reflects what you get. A bit old and tired, but adequate for a night. The beds were comfortable, and the location was great for downtown restaurants. We had dinner at the Dirty Northern, which was very good. Fine for one night.

Definitely showing it’s age

This is an older motel and it does show some wear and tear but the rooms are clean and the staff is very accommodating.
The room was comfortable and had newly installed Air conditioning. the shower was clean and the water hot. TV and WiFi work great.
On the morning we checked out, our riding companions had and accident and one of them broke their ankle.  The motel staff immediately re-booked us into our rooms again and assisted in get us coordinated with the local hospital and making us we had everything we needed after our return from the hospital.
We have stayed in other motels in Whitehorse before but if we ever are there again, this will be the motel we use.

Great Staff, Good price.

One of the filthiest hotels we have ever stayed in in our life. They also charge a fortune for dogs (when we should be the ones charging them for having to bath the dog after he laid on the carpet) and will even "fine you" if you didn't disclose the weight of the dog properly. Foreign staff as well that barely speaks English.

An Abomination

The Stratford is a comfy, cheap, and convenient place to stay. The staff are friendly and helpful.  The rates are very competitive, and it’s centrally located as well!  

This motel is perfect for everyone, especially people traveling by car. It’s got what you truly need: a short walk from your room to your car or to city center.

I’ll go here every time I’m in Whitehorse and so should you! I can’t wait to go back!

Good price. Great staff. Comfortable stay. Superb location.

Upon searching up accommodation options, we decided to stay at Stratford for the best overall deal in town. The staff were very friendly, gave us lots of information about the town and things to do. Our room was very clean, and the parking lot in front of the building made it easy for us to move our luggages into the room. There were lots of parking space available, didn't need to worry about other cars. The best part was the price and the location, being just a couple minutes away from coffee shops and souvenir stores. Definitely would visit again, worth the value!
