We had a small little house near the beach and by the pool. Beautifully furnished with good materials and nice art. The outdoor shower is very beautiful as is the own terrace with an outside leisure bed with Moskito net. The garden and pool are lovely and well kept. The weekly Moskito fogging seems to help and every evening there was a coil lit on our terrace, very considerate. As we were staying in march, there was a special price offer, so ist seemed really reasonable. Such a beautiful lobby to arrive to. The beach is just in front of the hotel with leisure chairs. Snorkeling right at the beach possible. Nice beach with many pretty restaurants. The ones on the road are far less expensive and nice too. We had a good breakfast right by the beach in the lovely restaurant.
All services like scooters and taxis are much cheaper booked elsewhere than at the hotel lobby.

Heavenly place

Upon arrival, the first thing was the gorgeous gardens - they are very well maintained and so beautiful. 

Our room had a distinct stale smell which didn’t fully disappear throughout the stay but this was bearable. 

The outdoor bathroom was fabulous - feels wrong using an indoor one again!!

The location is right near the beachfront and you have a great view when using the well maintained pool. 

My main criticism is of the restaurant - whilst they had a reasonable selection (including some good Greek food) the service was lacking and there was no atmosphere. We were often the only people in the restaurant and with no background music and the staff mostly disappearing out the back for a chat - it was awkward to get what you were after. 

Overall Taman Selini was a good place to stay, but after dining and seeing glimpses of nearby beachfront resorts including Pondok Sari and Taman Sari, I would honestly much rather stay there again. 

Good - but wouldn’t stay again

We did not rent a room here, but visited the restaurant twice whilst staying at the Taman Sari next door.

Other reviewers rightly mention the Greek dishes, which are of a good (albeit not outstanding) quality and are reasonably priced. Service is prompt and friendly.

The overall experience is therefore well above average, and outstanding when compared to the other available options in Pemuteran (where choices beyond one’s resort are somewhat limited).

Restaurant good enough for a repeat visit

When we first got to the hotel after a long journey from Ubud I was a little disappointed. The beach bungalows are very basic; no safe, no fridge, no tea/coffee, no wireless in the room and the top sheet on the bed had holes all over (was replaced by a better one the next day). In bungalow 5 the outdoor shower is overlooked by another bungalow, son of very private. The air con struggles to keep the room cool but it is a marked difference from the outside heat. 

After a few days however, the place grew on me. It has beautiful well kept gardens which are full of wildlife. The pool is small. It has a wonderful view of the beach and backdrop of the gardens and mountains. Unfortunately there are only 5 sun loungers and there were some overzealous people leaving their towels on them all day and protecting them as if they were made of gold. This didn't affect us too much as we were diving every day and had a quick dip in the evening at sunset. It was entertaining to watch the sun lounger wars though. 

We used Werner Lau dive centre based next door at Pondok Sari which I would highly recommend. It was so easy to just walk from the bungalow to the dive boat and all the equipment was loaded on board and looked after by the centre. 

The menu at the Selini restaurant was pretty good and varied with lots of Greek inspired dishes. We are here most of the time and it was always quiet. There is wireless here so most people are transfixed by there phones and tablets to get their internet fix since there is no signal in the rooms. I did see a "Selini test" wireless signal one day so they may be planning to improve the coverage.

My number one tip for the rooms would be to ask for a sheet to be draped over the top of the bed since gecko poo will occasionally rain down from the thatched roof and penetrate through the mosquito net. We put one on ourselves after we had a nasty surprise. The geckos are great and they eat mosquitos but they do poo from above a hell of a lot. 

My only major complaint about bungalow 5 is the lack of privacy for the shower and the water is either boiling hot or cold. I opted for cold! 

If you are diving you will love it here for ease of access and simplicity. 

Charming bungalows at a perfect location for diving

In general the place is fine. However you need to find your own way around. Upon check in one doesn't get any brief on the hotel and facilities which is a shame. Also in the room there is no information sheet about the hotel. If you want to do any trips for diving etc you can go next door where they are more than happy to assist. Breakfast is a bit crappy. If you want your restaurant patronised for dinner give your guests a nice breaky. Start with a good impression. Take another look on your American breakfast please. 
Sad thing is you can see the hardware of the hotel is really good. The foundation is there but obviously the local management have zero passion to go that extra mile for anything. Other wise location is great. Also there is a nice pool. 

Two night stay

Stayed here recently for 3 nights with my wife and son. We loved the hotel, which is very well maintained. The location is awesome, there is a beautiful garden with a nice pool which our infant son enjoyed very much. The rooms have aircon and a comfortable bed but not much more. However all rooms have a wonderful veranda. Only small downside about the hotel was the restaurant. The food was good, but it was difficult communicating with the staff, since not many of them spoke good English. However all staff were friendly, and we would certainly not mind comming back to Taman Selini in the future.

Nice and quiet location

I stayed here for 3 nights with my 12 year old and we loved it. It's super beautiful, lovely bungalow, a/c worked fine. The beach is divine- we rented snorkels/flippers for 50,000 ($5 aud) a day- lots of fish, the coral is still growing. It's easy to stroll to eateries nearby. The in-house restaurant has amazing Greek food- try on the first day as you'll want to eat it again. The filo pastries with cheese, and the eggplant dip were particularly yummy. It's sweet, low scale tourism, great value, quiet, very relaxing. Watch out- the sun is strong!!
