I've stayed here several times with my family, and once by myself. The rooms provided for a family of four were sufficiently big for the times we were in the room (who stays in their hotel room when in Urumqi???). It is generally quite. Most times the Front counter is staffed  by people who don't know English, but sometimes someone knows just enough. But this should not be a problem with smart phone translators nowadays. If you are leaving later in the day they have a small room behind the Front desk where you can leave your stuff, tagged and all. 

There is a KFC (currently under renovations - Oct/Nov 2016) just outside to the right. And if you keep going right there are a bunch of local restaurants. In the hotel building (but not necessarily part of the hotel) is a coffeeshop+restaurant that served decent meals. You are near a few BRT stops. All in all if you need a slightly lower priced hotel for more central/north Urumqi then this place ought to be fine.

I stayed here for a few nights while attending a conference nearby. The breakfast buffet was quite poor. The room was OK, but small, musty, and definitely showing signs of age. The staff were not particularly quick or attentive, but not bad. If the price is OK (less than 200RMB), then this is a good find: I'd consider it a reasonable 3-star hotel, by Chinese standards.

Acceptable, though small and old

It's not amazing here but we returned for a second stay after a Hetian excursion. You'll struggle here if you cannot speak mandarin  & don't have a mandarin helper you can call in. The usual musty carpets (Chinese hotels seem not to have heard of carpet shampooing) and hard but clean fresh bedding. Bathroom very good, everything clean & working - hot water is slow to arrive (be patient). Room service seemed to be little more than a towel swap & bed pull up & change most days - if more service is needed, just ask at reception. Breakfast had good selection of nice food & coffee on request. Significant deposit required as is normal in this locality. If you need a stay live power supply when you take the card from the room for device charging etc, there's one behind the little refrigerator. There's a good food street right next to the car park with great noodles, local style barbecue and cold beer. If your planning to take tours you can arrange this in hotel reception area - we made a mistake of choosing one tour (to Tulupan) from a flier handed out at the Urumqi Train Station & it was just a shopping trip with points of interest being limited to a 20min gallop. We'd stay at this friendly place again.
