I stayed in this hotel for three nights and had a really bad time. Here is a summary.
CONS:
- Soundproofing.
At night you can hear the noise of a pump which is unfortunately always on, both during the day and at night. If you are a light sleeper it will be hard to fall asleep.
- Room quality.
My room was small and dilapidated. As soon as I arrived the bathroom drain was faulty (but it was fixed) and the shower was leaking water.
PROS:
- Location.
Extremely close to the Petra site.

Cheap, great location but really poor otherwise.

The Venus Hotel is a modestly appointed hotel in line with the price. The room with a view is bright and spacious but was not a fan of the bathroom as it was somewhat dimly lit and shower stall was not very clean. The breakfast was not great, selection was limited, The only hot item on the menu(sassages) was cold. bread did not seem fresh so had to make liberal use of the toaster. coffee was horrendous, had to make use of the Nescafé instant coffee from the room as an alternative. Staff was friendly and helpful and location was close to the Park entrance and parking was free. Hotel provided a room safe but as usual, it was not bolted down. 🤨

Modest Hotel priced accordingly

The hotel is absolutely amazing. We had dinner at the hotel itself. The dinner costs 10JD for an adult and 5JD for a child. It was worth every penny as the food was delicious. I was travelling with my family and they gave us rooms next to each other. The breakfast also was quite good. They also prepare a lunch box for 5JD for you to carry in Petra which was a god send as you don't have much eating options in Petra. So, we did a lunch box for 5 JD, found some shade in petra and happily ate our lunch. A good hotel with a great dinner, good sleep, and good breakfast can make such a difference to your holiday.

The hotel is also absolutely right next door to Petra entrance. They also sell Petra by night tickets which is 17JD. So, you don't have to go to the ticket centre, but can just purchase it at the hotel and add it to you room bill.

However, Petra by night is not worth it at all and is a waste of money. I would skip it totally and just visit Petra which is awesome.

When we arrived, they had wifi problems due to the telecoms company. The hotel apologised quite a lot, but i still didn't have wifi and had to sort out lots of travel and speak to the tour guide.

Perfect location and relly good breakfast and dinner

We chose this hotel on the run after our unfortunate adventure at WASSAIF CAMP and we did not regret it .

The hotel is located very close to the entrance to Petra, and those who want to go to Petra by Night leave the hotel and enter Petra immediately.

 The hotel is new with spacious, clean room, wifi, free parking and excellent breakfast.

And I didn't pay a high price

An excellent choice .

We got a better room than we booked (with nice view and balcony). The hotel is close to the JETT bus station, right next to the entrance to the Petra Visitor Center. Polite and helpful staff, comfortable, modern and well-equipped room. A rich choice for breakfast and very tasty dishes. We got coffee, water and packed lunch during an early checkout. Great choice in Petra, I recommend!

Perfect location and comfort

We had a wonderful stay in this lovley hotel we stayed for two nights and everything was just perfect. The staff are excellent and so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fabulous.     A great place to stay and so near the entrance to Petra

A wonderful stay

My wife, 8 yr old daughter and I visited stayed at the Venus for 2 nights for our visit of Petra. The location was perfect, 200 metres from the visitors centre and next to the free public parking. The hotel itself was clean, provided a good breakfast and friendly staff. The manager kindly arranged for us Petra by night tickets at no extra charge and was generally at hand to help throughout our stay. 

You cannot get a better location!

Its my first time in Petra. And I chose this hotel accidentally. But I am not regret at all. The location couldn't be better. Its just 2 minutes from the Petra museum and visit center. I had a room with balcony with amazing view and in case you have a time to go on the roof, just do it, specially to see sunset. Breakfast continental bufet and dinner is international bufet - really good. Its excellent. Room are clean and spacious. Staff are very nice and helpful.

This 3star hotel has to be 4 stars. Really amazing place

There were multiple issues with our 2 day stay. The manager was generally helpful, but we would not stay here again. 

A major problem was that our rooms weren't clean.  The bathroom was grimy, the bedroom floor needed cleaning and the bedsheets were stained.  It took 3 attempts to be provided with enough clean (ish) sheets to make the bed ourselves. We asked for some money back but the manager apparently did not have the authority to arrange this (we’d paid on arrival).

The rooms needed refurbishment, apparently scheduled for early 2019. The toilet was broken and we had no means of turning on the heating (aircon).  We were given a remote control for the heating (why we had to explicitly request this in such cold weather is another matter) and the manager attempted to fix the toilet.  This was successful, but delayed our evening plans significantly.  The plug for the heater in our friend's room was missing, the cable ending in bare wires.
 Hot water was intermittent. The manager assured us it was on between 5-12 am and pm, but it wasn’t hot later in the evening.  WiFi in the rooms was advertised on booking.com but it did not reach us on the 4th floor.  We’d requested a room on a lower floor when booking – the confirmation that this could be provided came through after we returned home!  The lift was not functioning during our stay.

 The only positives were the location, unarguably one of the best in Petra, very close to the entrance to the visitor centre and main site, and the panoramic view from the 5th floor breakfast room, which was stunning.  Breakfast was unremarkable.

 We wish we’d read other reviews in full before staying here!

Many issues. Helpful staff, but we won't stay here again.

Bonus is that, it's the cheapest you will find next to the entrance. Ofcourse it's located on a steep uphill but once you get there you realise most of Petra is hilly.. some steep, some not. So if you can hike up petra, this is easy peasy. 
Now about the hotel- the person at the reception was kind and nice. Wifi available at the Lobby. But the room.... I'd not recommend at all. Sorry to say but poor, run down hotel. With below average comfort and poor facilities. Bathroom doors wouldn't close. 
I stayed there on a windy night and the windows were moving in sync with the wind even though it was closed. I guess there was no one in the other room to shut its window so with the wind pressure that came n left the room, the door kept moving back n forth in locked position making it seem so eerie all together. The whole floor was noisy. I wouldn't have survived that night if not for my friend!
