Agrigento

This place is fantastic value . We only stayed 1 night , we drove to Agrigento in the morning from Siracusa , and checked straight into a family room and the headed to the beach which was about 5 minutes drive away.

We came back to freshen up, the room was very clean. then headed to the 5.55pm tour at the Valley of the Temples .  If this is the reason you are visiting Agrigento, then the villa is very close  as long as you have a car.

The communal fridges on the ground floor were a nice touch where you could keep drinks and food cold.

The following morning we were heading to Palermo, and we were slightly apprehensive of driving in the capital, but Domenico the host told us about a bus station on the outskirts where you could leave your car and get the bus into the centre. 

Great Value

The place is not in the center of Agrigento, however it is close to the valley of the temples - which I conclude is the main thing to see. Was picked up personally by the owner (a very cheerful chap) at the bus stop, so for my part distance-wise all was equal to being centrally located :) Nice big room, nice bath room, perfectly working wifi, also got some laundry done - no complaints!

For 55 euros for 3 people I think you would be hard pressed to get better value. Clean, modern, free wifi, free bicycle hire, lovely breakfast and good location. On top of this Domenico is friendly and very servient, and there is off street, secure parking for your car, and the most important part is a powerful shower with plenty of hot water, brilliant. Air con for the summer and heating in the winter.

You are about 800 metres from the sea, and it could be a little interesting to find it without a gps but it's worth the effort.

Quality/price outstanding value

Showed up and the owner was not there and not expecting us until the next day.  Luckily I had written down the number and have an Italian cell phone just in case, as no one was there at the B&B.  Granted it is offseason, but when we showed up the common room was in disarray and the room was not ready.  The room was bare, uncomfortable, and cold.  There was only one space heater and we were not convinced that would keep all three of us warm that night, so we ended up eating our deposit and not staying there.  I'm sure this is a nice place to stay in the summer for its proximity to the beach, but since its december that was not high on our list of places to spend a lot of time anyway.

Not impressed

In our email we were told this place was 70 metres from the sea, its not. It was pretty basic with old furniture, an uncomfortable bed and towels you could sand a desk with. I'd give it a miss to be honest.

Not near the sea, impossible to find

The B&B is a little hard to find if you do not have a GPS.  It is located on a small street with inside parking.  You need a car to stay here if you want to visit the temples and town, but you can walk to the ocean.  The rooms are clean and adequate.  Good for a one night stay or if you want to spend most of the time near the beach.  Good value.
