There's nothing better and more beautiful in Orange.Gerlind and her husband are perfect hosts.The house is a dream.And very well located and if the owner of the house is still cooking, it's just brilliant.

A dream

We are very happy to be back at the Villa Aurenjo with Gerdi and Oli. They are fabulous hosts, charming, open and extremely helpful. You feel at home right away - or better. Something very special. The house and the rooms are extremely comfortable and really offer everything you want as a guest. The location is quiet and yet you can walk a few minutes to the old town. And in the morning there is the best breakfast in a long time. An unconditional recommendation!

Again very well felt, the hosts are like their house a dream

It is located 10m away from the centre of Orange, in a very quiet place. The owner is very kind and takes care of you in different languages without any problems. We went with our dog and, although he has a couple, there was no problem and they took the sea of good between them. The facility is as described, a villa; that is, it has a large patio at the entrance where there is a garden and space left over for several cars, then you can access the main building where the rooms and the dining room are located, then another indoor patio where you can enjoy dinner if the weather is right, followed by another building that serves as a bar / concert hall & exhibitions, and finally there is the tennis court. Wow, almost nothing!

An incredible place to spend the night and enjoy breakfast the next day.

For several years we stayed at Villa Aurenjo before continuing on to La Croix Valmer. From the warm reception by the host and Giulio, a lovely puppy, to the spacious and elegantly decorated rooms of the manor house, everything is just right here. The location in the immediate vicinity of the old town, but totally quiet, is sensational. The tips of the host are very valuable, the breakfast is rich. A round-the-clock start to the holidays.

A Perfect Start to the Holiday

We had a great stay albeit for one night only. The house is beautiful and the Dutch owners warm and welcoming; loved the honesty bar. We had to leave before 8am and the owners were accommodating for breakfast. We’d say the only negative is the 4pm check-in which meant we were in and out very quickly.

Friendly and relaxing

Stayed here for three nights with my dog.

Arrived about two hours early for check in - wasn’t a problem at all. My room was ready and the I received an incredibly warm welcome from the owner. Car parking is on site - you just need a code to open the gate.

My room was at the front as you come in. It was really spacious, a huge comfortable bed, seating area with high stools, tea and coffee facilities and a massive bathroom / shower area. Two little seats and a table outside my room.

The real delight comes as you walk through the property to the other side where there is a fabulous patio where it’s quite easy to spend a couple of hours. There’s a good sized swimming pool and some garden area for the dogs - including a little river pathway.

There’s an honesty bar for (good) wine, beer and soft drinks. There’s also a small gallery in there too.

Breakfast is fantastic - if anything way too much of it! Bread, pastries, jams, muesli, fruit, meat, cheese, smoothies, eggs as you want them and of course coffee and tea.

WiFi is better in this part of the property - very strong actually. 

There are two lovely dogs, one very friendly - it’s a dog friendly property so do expect that.

Location wise it’s great - just a five minute walk from the restaurants and just under ten to the Theatre Antique which is a must do when you visit.

Likewise the vineyards of Gigondas, Chateauneuf du Pape and Beaumes-de-Venise are around 15 mins drive away - makes for a good drive out.

Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again - it was wonderful.

Fabulous place to stay

After 4 weeks of travelling around Provence, my wife decided that we would stay somewhere different for our two days in Orange. Well, VILLA AURENJO, is certainly different. A grand old house, which in a past life served as the administrative offices for a large, successful flour mill, the remains of which are close by.

It is full of character and old world charm, with spacious comfortable rooms, some with large external balconies. The bathroom was enormous on French standards. Ours had his and her’s vanity basins, a bath and a ballroom sized shower. The bed was very comfortable and we had a 2-person sofa and a small dining table. Air-conditioned plus a ceiling fan for those hot summer nights.

Facilities have to be seen to be believed. Full-sized tennis court, large swimming pool, boules, a large, enclosed garden retreat with a small art gallery, a selection of wines that you can purchase (on an honesty based system), at a very reasonable price. You can even make your own entertainment as a guitar, organ, drum kit are available. All this and set under the cooling branches of enormous 200 year old trees. 

The breakfast was the ultimate in continental breakfast, with an extensive range of breads and fruits, plus yoghurt, juice, ham/cheese and cooked eggs.

The English speaking hosts are very friendly and helpful and the location is perfect for a walk around Orange. The Restaurant Le Saigon, near the ruins of the Roman Theatre, is a great cheap place to eat and within walking distance.

So if you are looking for somewhere different, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND, Villa Aurenjo.

Live like the French gentry of old but with all the comforts of home

This is the first time we have stayed in Orange, and we chose a gem in Villa Aurenjo. The building is full of character in a narrow street less than 10 minutes walk from the city centre. The area is a nest of grand old houses that must have been the place to live in past times. Now the Villa provides an ideal base for those wishing to stay in accommodation that is unique, quirky and comfortable. There is a sense of peace and well being in the building.  The owner/operators are professional and warm and are clearly committed to meeting the needs of their guests. Breakfast was high quality, and is served in a leafy garden.

Character, warmth and comfort

If you look at the pictures here and read the reviews, I feel we must have stayed in a completely different place. The host was very friendly and helpful, the rooms quite big, it did have a smallish pool but no nice gardens, the villa looked well worn and in need of refurbishment, solemn background music was played and the breakfast was poor. The rooms were shabby chic but looked just plain shabby, big, old bathroom, shower and two sinkss and soo.. noisy outside, loud talking in their yard, right outside our window, that went on until 11.30pm. They said they did gluten free breakfast but what she meant was, they bought some (inedible) GF bread. The breakfast, served at the table, consisted of a couple of pieces of dried meat and cheese, bread, small cartons of industrial  jam, industrial orange juice and a pink coloured drink. I must say the friendly Dutch owner did offer us eggs, cooked by her husband .. I didn’t try an egg as I had nothing to eat it with. They also put a little fresh fruit on table, but it wasn’t ripe. It was very close to the centre and the motorway but at €120 it was well overpriced. We definitely won’t be back.

Not up to expectations

B&B with excellent location very close to the centre walking distance, is a very well preserved Provincial villa, total tranquility and very well served. Admitted pets. It has gardens, large swimming pool and tennis court, has free parking inside the villa. Very good breakfast and magnificent attention from the owner.
