Villa Lenka and Mate Ivanac

Brela

The Villa Lenka and Mate is a great place to stay in Brela. Mate is an attentive, helpful host, the appartments and surrounding are kept wonderfully clean, fresh towels daily etc. Make sure you get an appartment with a sea-view)). We went from 1st-15th September, but the second week is sort of the end of the tourist season so the beaches are less crowded. The temperatures were 28-32C during our stay  I am told the weather is still good for swimming until the middle of October so still time for a snap holiday! 

Remember that Croatia in general and the coastal regions are not budget destinations, but these appartments and much in Brela is value for money. If you like fish have a meal in Konoba Feral on the harbour front.

Another brilliant holiday in Brela

We were picked up at the bus station when we arrived to Brela, which was very much appreciated due to the very windy weather that day. It was dark outside so we couldn’t see much, but when we pulled away the curtains the next morning we were amazed by the breathtaking views! The location is great, close to the beaches and stores. The room was very clean and comfortable. A small kitchenette and a refrigerator which was perfect. The hosts were so friendly and helpful! We were served a homemade pie for our coffee. We just loved the place and the service we received!

Amazing place to stay!

I didn't know very much about Brela before our trip, but it was a fantastic place to to stay - it had all the facilities we needed, the beaches were beautiful, and in all my travels I have never seen the water so clear. We stayed at Villa Lenka and Mate Ivanac for 5 days and were very pleased with our choice, I just wish we could have stayed longer ! Mr Ivanac and his family were welcoming from the moment we arrived, and we couldn't believe what great value the accommodation was. We had a double room with a balcony overlooking the sea, the room and the bed were very comfortable, and the small kitchen and fridge were great for making small meals. The room was cleaned every day (which was unfortunately not our experience in other places in Croatia). I can't rate the place highly enough. A couple of things to mention - first of all the hotel doesn't take cards, so you'll need to pay in cash (Kuna or Euros), and secondly on arrival you may be given a shot of homemade booze - careful or it might blow your head off !

Excellent !

My second visit to Villa Lenka and Mate and already I feel like an old friend of the family. Their apartments are spotless. We had a twin bedded room with balcony and beautiful sea view, small kitchenette and shower room. Beautifully cleaned and cool marble floors.  Our balcony was framed by ripening mandarins. Mate is a very friendly, attentive but unobtrusive host... always willing to help (e.g. getting a taxi to Split airport] or make a recommendation. Sharing a glass of his home made brandy is a way of cementing your relationship! One day some apple pastries were just delivered unbidden with a smile by the girl who works hard making sure that everywhere in the apartments are spotless. Lenka is also very friendly and runs a beach shop in the town where as a guest you can get discount. We were made to feel more like friends than guests.
Remember Brela is on a steep hillside, so except along the beautiful beach walks there will always be a bit of uphill walking.  These apartments are close to the centre of the town and beaches via a shortish set of stairs or a slightly longer road; there are plenty of other apartments in Brela that involve much, much  more hill climbing. I'm an asthmatic in my sixties and managed OK!  But sitting on one of Mate's balconies and looking across the sea to the islands is worth the little climb involved. I cannot recommend a stay here more highly....... Brela is beautiful and the Villa Lenka and Mate an excellent place to stay.  Thank you Lenka, thank you Mate for a beautiful relaxing week in the sun.

Another perfect stay with Lenka and Mate

Perfect location just few minutes walk to restaurants and coffee shops. Nice beach and promenade!! Amazing  modern flat,  we had everything we needed perfect sea view. Very good Wi Fi. Brela is peaceful and perfect holiday spot!!!!

Perfect stay!!!

Stayed with my husband for å week and we both loved this place! Extremely friendly and attentive host, very good location, and a studioapartment that was functional and spotlessly clean with a wonderful sea view from our balcony. Comfortable bed, good storage space and small and functional kitchenette. The bathroom was small but worked perfectly for us and had a good shower. Clean towels every day and change of bed linen every other day. Wi-Fi worked very well everywhere. This apartmenthouse gives you very good value for money! Small minimarket 50 meters away and a 5 minute walk, by steps, to get to the beach and the towncentre with lots of restaurants, a few bakeries and grocery stores. Brela is lovely and peaceful in May, and we will definitely return and stay again at Villa Lenka and the wonderful and friendly Mate. 

Solemn recommendation!

We spent 4 nights finding excellent cleaning. Every day they cleaned the room, repairing the beds and fixing everything. Changing fabrics included! From the portico there are 148 steps. Brela is set on a hill overlooking the sea and above there is the mountain. Beaches from the portico to ds. Punta Rata is a 30-minute walk under the pine tree.

A pleasant address

We stayed 7 nights in this property. Friendly owners; daily cleaning with towel change; apartments equipped with everything necessary; good quality price ratio considering that Brela is quite expensive, but it is also a very beautiful country with a dream sea so it is worth the money spent!! There are many stairs to reach the sea and the center of Brela, but you get used to it!

What a lovely holiday!

The 4 stars are not deserved for the structure but only for the kindness of the owner and his daughter: having needed the kitchen they brought us up to their house and put their things at their disposal. For the rest the small but nice room and the third bed a simple caserma style brandy. Beautiful balcony overlooking the sea.
