Remember this place from years ago, they stole £700 from us. We arranged for a refund with the venue when we changed our plans. After fighting to get hold of the manager for months, he eventually wrote and said no refund and his staff were wrong to promise us a refund...

Horrible manager

Amazing location, very friendly staff, disgusting toilets and bedrooms. There is moisture in the bedrooms, mattress is very bad. Breakfast was extremely poor too. Just coffee and one creape with jam, milk,  artificial juice made with pouder. 
The installation is in such a bad condition that it is hard to enjoy your stay. 

Me and my friend had our nose blocked due to the moisture and the condition of the mattress.

The staff at this hostel put on an excellent New Year's Eve party for guests. They were so friendly and helpful for our entire stay, we had some problems with laundry and they couldn't have done more to sort everything out. Good WiFi and AC at night. Good location and security too.

New Years Visit

My Patner and I booked into walk on the beach hostel for three days. We loved it so much we stayed for three weeks. From the minute you walk in the door there is nothing but friendly faces who make you feel like you really are home from home. The staff and owners of the hostel made our experience in Rio one of the best to date. Not to mention the FREE fantastic pancakes served fresh everyday. The location is perfect for any attraction  you want to get involved in around Rio. The hostel is constantly clean and has a great cheap bar with snacks available at any time of the day. We will definitely be back. Chur!

Home away from home

From the moment myself and my friend got here we were greeted by friendly staff and the management. They answered all our touristy questions and were very helpful in recommending good bar, restaurants and tours. The bar upstairs run by Ed is very cosy and the Caipirinhas are the best I've had in Rio. The atmosphere here is so friendly. Also you're just 4 min walk to the beach and main shopping streets. 

Excellent hostel with a family atmosphere

So the place delivers on its name, it's a short walk to the beach, this was great! The rest was a mixed bag.

So to start with there was 3 or 4 at reception. They were some of the nicest and most friendly people I have met in a long time. Made some really good suggestions of places to go, good fun and friendly.

Room were old, pillows were tiny and the mattresses were thin. I didnt get one night sleep. On plus side rooms cleaned daily, cleaner were friendly and left rooms clea

Toilet facilities were also poor. Meant to be one man's shower/bathroom and one female shower/bathroom on the floor I was on. Someone had shaved and blocked mens sink and it was left with dirty water for about 3 days.

Dude running bar was a complete Bro. Think if I was female I might of got better service. Claimed one night that place was out of beer and he refused to make us cocktails as well as he wanted to get out early with his mates. Night of free Capris he told me he would shoot down the drinks when made, never came. Bar might have been busy one night in all, half the hostel crew got the beers/ drinks and then sat in smoking area.

If the Hostel had been packed and there was a real party atmosphere you would be happy enough to put up with some of the pains but off season when its quiet you would expect higher standard.



Some good points some not so good

The hostel had a great vibe, especially if you’re there to party, the bar was great and the staff were amazing. The only complaint was that the bunk beds were three levelled and really not that comfortable. 

Travelling 

Staying at Walk On The Beach Hostel it's been amazing! Awesome Staff and good amtpsphere. Nice small own bar! Really good location, only 5min from copacobana beach and 1min from supermarketes. Would stay here any time again!

Best hostel in Rio!

Location is perfect. Close to Copacabana Beach. Hostel is wonderful. Friendly and nice. They have own bar. One Caiperenha is free for guest like welcome drink. Guys, thank you for everything. Place for tourists better you can not find.

This is my second trip to Rio de Janeiro and I love Walk on the Beach hostel as much as I love Rio. The staff goes out of there way to create a family environment. My first time staying here in 2017, I was invited to an upstairs birthday party where I met plenty of amazing people from all over the world. The hostel is only a 5 minute walk to all the shopping and restaurants you can imagine. And the beach is very close as well. I consider this hostel my second home and cannot wait to come back!!!
