The website had promised a wide variety of activities such as fishing, feeding animals and bushwalks. When we arrived we were left no instructions on where we were allowed to fish nor how to deal with the animals. On the website we were promised at least 3 different types of animals but there were only 2 alpaca on the property that refused to come near us. The "full kitchen" did not have an oven and there was no WiFi which should have been specified before arrival so people can come prepared. We were also not told to bring our own firewood and breakfast ingredients were very sparce, did not even include salt and pepper. I tried calling Karen and emailed her about the animals and fishing but there was no response. Will not stay again.

Overpromissed, underdelivered

If you’re like us and just needed to escape the crazy bustle of life but couldn’t afford a fancy health retreat, this is the place to go! 
It was so relaxing which was exactly what we needed. We didn’t see a soul the whole weekend and simply spent time doing nothing! We read books, watched DVDs, made a fire, had a spa and listened to the beautiful bird song. 
The cabins had recently-updated linen, towels, cutlery, crockery and cookware, so it was a real delight being in this comfortable country-style cabin. 
We’ll definitely be back again!

Perfect retreat for stressed out Sydney-siders!

I booked this room for my partners birthday for a mid week getaway.  We loved the cabin.  The spa and the fire pit were the highlight.  Karen is a great host and was very thoughtful with ensuring we had supplies as the location is secluded (which is certainly a plus when you want to get away from the city!) we loved the wildlife and the peace and quiet!

Lovely mid week getaway

Hi Karen. We left our stay at Bingle Tree Retreat this morning somewhat disappointed with our stay. Don't get me wrong, the location is amazing, but the experience lacked terribly with the promises made on your website. We were told to bring our own fire wood and assured that there would be a limited amount on the porch for our first night, no wood was left. We decided to retreat to the spa later in the night only to find,after following the instructions, that it didn't work. Am On Saturday we decided to go for a walk down to the creek and were entertaining the thought of a canoe ride along the creek. Very disappointed to find the creek dirty and overgrown and the canoes in a pile of grass covered in dirt. I was afraid to even move them for fear of what I might disturb. We weren't even game to sit on the hammocks as they were damp and covered in moss and mould. Getting ready for dinner, my wife showered and went to dry her hair. The hairdryer had exposed wires and frayed cord 😬. The fan switches were broken, fan in living room was thick with dust. The freezer hadn't been defrosted for I don't know how long and we couldn't fit anything in there. The selection of cereals consisted of a single serve of Special K and a few single serves of sultana brand, hardly a selection. The radio in the lounge room doesn't work and the gas stove knobs were loose and unsafe. Repair work had been carried out around light switches but was left unpainted/unfinished The general cleanliness that I think should accompany the tariff was not there. If our feelings have upset you, We left feeling we just didn't get what we payed for. Nonetheless we made the most of our surroundings and still managed to have a nice weekend away, just that we wouldn't stay there again at the rates they're asking.

Very disappointed

We stayed on the weekend of 27th to 29th  of oct in the Macquarie  cabin.this unit needs some TLC  .spa would not work at 1st but they were quick to repair  it. Which was good switch was not working. So i filled it with water for a flush out and the amount of rubbish that came out of the jets left me wondering about the cleaning standed. As you will see by one of the photos with a cleaning cloth it .It took me another three goes to get it to a useable standard. Bed was comfy  then i need a power point  when i looked behind bed head, it looks like it had not been dusted for a long time.light switch in main room needs work as they have put tape near it.. fan swtich in bed room had no knob on it, had to use pliers  to turn on. Bathroom had one heat lamp of two working  and no light either  in 3in1. Bed head is about to fall apart as you can see the dowels just holding  fridge could use a defrost.

Disappointed 

This has been our 6th visit here over the last 15 years and we still love the place. While it is getting a little worn it is still well worth a visit. The place is on the market so it could be our last trip. It is well equipped (but no oven which is not unusual) and includes bread, butter, spreads, cereal, milk, tea and coffee and biscuits. Not a 5 star resort but does not claim to be. Love relaxing in the outdoor spa.
The only disappointment was that you need to bring your own firewood however there are a few places within 10 km that sell wood by the bag. There is a reverse cycle air con so if you do not want a fire that will keep you warm.

Still a great place to visit

A lovely place we visited about 8 years previously so wanted to return, however we were disappointed with some aspects second time around. Firstly being told to bring our own firewood if we wished to use the log fireplace was a bit off, never experienced that before in a place that specifically advertises its romantic log fires. Also the place is now over run with privet, even hammocks swallowed up in the bush now and rotting. What was there was dirty and unkempt meaning we couldn't lie on a hammock without first covering it with a blanket and couldn't sit at the picnic table. The hairdryer in our cabin the heat didn't work on, and the bed linen was not great quality, also could have used bath robes with the spa. Overall lovely and peaceful and a great place to be for a romantic weekend but sadly needs some attention.
