My wife and I are great travelers. We spend almost 2 months a year in hotels, hostels, nice satisfactions... and all around the world. (We don't use the travel agencies in St-Jean de Matha.) This site is not new to us (seventh stay in 15 years) but we had forgotten about the quality and warmth of this hotel without neglecting the kindness of the staff. My wife and I are great travellers. Great weekend getaway

It's a nice house, a spacious room, quiet but on the road anyway. You need a room that overlooks the gardens and tennis. Breakfast is simple, not very varied. It's enough for one night on your way to discover the east and north of Canada.

Step on the Road

Great golf course with challenging par 3’s (see pic, tee to green water!), 4s and 5’s (especially the 17th hole!).

Unfortunately, they pack the tee times too closely and it took us almost 5.5 hrs to play it ( and we all play in the low 90’s!). We were seemingly the youngest guys there, so the restaurant and golf course caters to an older crowd (which is fine...).

There are deals usually offered with the hotel situated across the street. The 4 service dinner is very good with options for every adult (i.e. homemade pasta bar was everyone’s favourite?).  Breakfast was ok with eggs, patato, bacon etc. For the price, play at golf courses nearby like the Montcalm.

Good food, great golf with long weekend waits!

Not far from Montreal, and the accommodation is at the foot of the golf course. Be careful what they call the chalets are actually condos, and no BBQ... despite everything there are good deals, with lunch/supper 4 services included!

Go to golf more than accommodation.

We played golf at St. John de Matha on Thursday, August 3, 2017 and everything went perfectly. The staff is super warm and friendly and the price ratio is right up to you. I play a lot of golf course and St. John de Matha offers a great service that should be copied first. I booked the day even the lady on the super nice phone, the supervisors at the start were smiling and friendly and a rare thing (on the golf courses) the marshal that day offered us free water and he even gave my wife some balls he found! The golf course is in super nice condition everywhere with beautiful flowers, the only small negative point from my point of view I liked the greens faster and the greens were a slow but not to my point of return to the golf course.

Gof St. John of Matha an excellent choice!

In vacations, golf and condo accommodation in front of the super clean and welcoming golf club, clean pool. The staff is friendly and friendly. The hotel is nice but no more, but the condo room is more than normal, clean yes, for the rest it's not worth the detour. The furniture is worn, uncomfortable, the beds are as comfortable as a wooden board. There is no toilet service except for 4 soap bars and an unpleasant hook that can burn you if you don't notice the hot/cold labels installed in the shower. Not surprising when you tapestry in the armorists' socks so badly, the decoration on the lake is so devilish that it's so disappointing that the towels, the towels and the ballet are so beautiful, it's so nice to sit on the balcony.

Hostel and cottage

For $98 on a Saturday night. Large clean room. Small continental lunch only. Couldn't we have a hot lunch? The outside looks nice but it was raining. We just went to sleep because there was a party in the corner, but we're satisfied. Not a place to spend a couple's evening, but a place to play golf or slide up and down.

Good for the price

Booked a golf weekend with 15 of my friends. Great deal stayed in a mix of hotel and chalet accommodations. Both were super. Chalet could have used another shower and perhaps some updating. Food was fabulous! Merci Claude your service was super. Course was in great shape and everyone enjoyed it. I have played here before and was happy to play again. The only unfortunate issue was some (1/2) of us could speak French some can only understand some and that is unfortunate but we heard comments from one of the pro shop staff that they were tired of speaking English and other comments. Wow for the 15 minutes we spent getting started in the morning of the first day really. Suck it up, they were your guests!!!

Super Bon

We purchased a golf/stay and play package at the Ottawa golf show in March. The drive was an easy 3 hrs from Orleans with little congestion by going north of Montreal. The course is beautiful - in great shape and the maintenance is excellent. It is tough but with great rewards. The pro shop is well stocked and prices are good. They offer a unique challenge - finish your round in 4:30 or less and each member wins a prize - they range from pro shop or bar discounts to free rounds of golf. Things moved quite well for our two rounds. The meals in the package were outstanding - very good quality and great selection. The auberge is a bit dated but the room was very clean (and quite large). Overall the highlight of the trip was the fantastic service and willingness to meet our group's needs - very nice to see from all staff members.

Fantastic experience

Regional snowmobile tracks 341, 349 and provincial 63 accessible. The young receptionist was very welcoming. Continental lunch included. They rented the last two rooms really just for sleeping, we made snowmobile until 1am and left at 8:30am again. Room #116 was very big, missing just a sofa bed in the living room to sleep 4. (Maybe you could bring an inflatable bed  there was plenty of room in the bathroom) It was really clean, floating floor, no carpet. (Not in every room) There was a large closing room with a good king bed, (very nice kitchen pills) reception room with a backwasher/dryer, a friend of a skittle cook (who used to be a little bit of a living room) I would spend a few days in front of the hotel, and the hotel was very close to our golf course.
