Valérie was very available to exchange with us and advise us on the Very Good Chef, we enjoyed ourselves and enjoyed the /2 guesthouse. (Various vegetable soups, local dishes in sufficient quantity, homemade desserts). The dining basket option is a good variant of traditional chips or sandwiches. The hostel is spacious, very functional, a very well equipped kitchen, a good bedding and calm. We recommend this hostel, of course.

3 good nights of rest

We stayed 5 nights at the Pollen Gîte. We enjoyed our stay. Valérie is adorable, always available to advise us on our daily schedule. She cooks super well and served us every evening a rich and varied meal (for 17 euros the full meal...). The sunny breakfast facing the mountains was a joy. Our room Le Mont Pourri is perfect. This is the second time we come to this Gîte. We will definitely come back, but this time to ski hiking!

A great address.

We had a great time together as a family. The hostel was large, our room was spacious and there was a beautiful view from the garden. The dishes prepared by the owner are delicious. Our stay in Granier allowed us to rest and it was good for us.

Perfect home, comfortable rooms, a postcard view, and a healthy and tasty cuisine based on local produce, a paradise for sportsmen and nature lovers.

Nice place to stay.

Gite well exposed in the adrets (to the south) in the quiet little village of Granier. From the terrace and windows; splendid views of the summit of Bellecôte (3417 m) and Mont Pourri (3779 m). Easy to find in the village. Valérie is very smiling and accurate. Spacious and well-equipped rooms with private and separate bathroom and toilet. impeccable cleanliness. A professional, well-equipped kitchen is available for those who want to cook. I would recommend the halfpension. We wanted to return J very much appreciated the meal prepared by Valérie: soup of terraces, we enjoyed the whole meal with a slice of coconut to be accompanied by a tasty sauce, a tasty table with spiced fruits and vegetables and a very tasty atmosphere with a view to the room.

I've never seen anything like this before.

I booked this hotel during a motorcycle trip by booking. The price seemed attractive (25 euros per double room for single use) but then it was added: 6.50 for breakfast, 8 for sheets and towels, 17 for dinner and 1 euro as a fee for a total of 57.50 euros. A little expensive. But the room and bathroom were clean and the service was good. Good service. The owner speaks English and French. Anyway, I recommend!!!

That's very cute, but a little expensive.

My summer time visit to Gite Pollen was a very pleasant overnight on a long journey.  Gite Pollen is a small hotel (or guest house) with about 6 guest rooms.  I stayed in the Mont Pourri room, which has an expansive view of the surrounding Alpine mountains.  My room was very basic - two twin beds with traditional comforters, and a light. That is all there is.  Comfortable and clean.  The bathroom was larger than the room itself, but it is across the hall (private, not shared).  Valerie prepared breakfast for me at my requested time, and the meal was quite adequate.  She also offers dinner but I did not take that option.  The cost of my room was 25 Euro for a single, plus 6.5 Euro breakfast and 0.80 tax.  I knew there would be no WiFi so I got by okay, but if that is important then keep it in mind.

Adequate room, spectacular view, low cost

We were originally planning on taking the overnight sleeper service from Paris up to Aime La Plagne for skiing at half term.  But due to the interesting way of booking this, we managed not to get any sleeper compartments.  This meant a change of plans and instead of getting the overnight train we went for the day service.  Eurostar to paris then change to Gare De Lyon and then 5 hours up to the Aime La Plagne.

However that left us with the requirement to find somewhere to stay.  One night can be very expensive at half term, and we wanted somewhere fairly close to the station.  Although it's on the other side of the valley this proved to be ideal.  Valerie who owns Gite Pollen was very organised and sorted out a taxi to take us up to where they are.  Most people will only have ever been on the other side of the valley for skiing, and it was a speedy journey up.  It took about 15 minutes up and it was probably good it was in the dark.

Once there Valerie was waiting for us.  She sorted out something for us to drink and we organised the rooms.  It is nothing flash and would really be a summer place if you are coming mountaineering or walking, or some fairly hardcore skiing in the winter not lots of lifts on this side of the mountain.  But it gave us what we needed at a price that was right, somewhere to sleep for the night and then breakfast for an early start in the morning.

Valerie then even took us all over to Plagne 1800 where we were staying in the morning for an early start, as she worked there which was even better.  We were sorted in the chalet and out on the slopes by 10am.  A fantastic extra day for the kids, and from what I have heard we were much more refreshed than people who get the overnight service and then try and ski the first day.

All in all it worked very well, good organisation good information and much cheaper than being on the other side of the mountain for one night.  It would be a great place in summer to explore as well.
