Best choice for vacation in Paris

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights in March and really enjoyed the place.  We stayed in the 1st floor apartment (in the photos, this is the one with bowler hat lamp and bathroom on same floor). The view of Sacre Coeur is beautiful, decor is cool and the way they've separated lounge from bed area is stylish. You can hear some noise from upstairs neighbours or people in kitchen at breakfast but otherwise very quiet! Kitchen is shared and breakfast/teas etc are on a help yourself basis. Yoghurts, cereal, cheeses etc in the fridge. Early birds might get the best stuff, but we were happy to go out anyway.
The location is great, however please note it is right amongst the market/shops so you step right into the hustle & bustle of Montmartre. We loved that, but it might not be for everyone. Grenouilles cafe right outside is good and you can get to Pigalle easily for nightlife and more restaurants. Not suitable for those who are not good with stairs. It is very steep in Montmartre and the nearest tube is down several flights that you have to climb again later! I would absolutely stay again and thank the host for easy stay.

Cool apartment in great location. Feel like a local! 

The room was in a great location just off a main street in Montmartre, lots of choice of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Smaller than expected from the photos, we had the Lautrec room. Nice but pretty basic, there was no remote for the TV, and nowhere to hang clothes which was odd, no wardrobe or cupboard so we made do with hanging from the doors. Bathroom is tiny, and the sink design soaked us every time we ran the tap. No fridge in the rooms but there is access to a small shared kitchen area. The view was nice, overlooking a cemetery next door and the roof of the Sacre Coeur. The main draw of this room is definitely the location, but at £170/night I did find the room lacking for what we paid so probably wouldn't stay again,but I get the feeling that all accommodations in this area of Montmartre would be pricey due to the proximity to the Sacre Coeur. 

Great location but quite small and pricey. 

We booked last year from Australia for a stay in September 2020, but needed to cancel recently because of covid travel restrictions. I sent multiple emails to Mariam to request a refund of our deposit, with no response. I eventually rang her, and she agreed to refund us within "a few  days". No funds appeared after 3 weeks, so I emailed again. No response. This seems to be a recurring theme, after reading other reviews. Beware of booking direct with this establishment. Her communication stops as soon as there are any issues to resolve. We booked many other apartments through AirBnB for our planned holiday to France, Portugal and Spain. All of these were refunded without question, but we have lost money through this unscrupulous operator.
  

Beware 

This adorable hotel is located in the heart of Montmartre. Yet somehow peaceful and quiet. You couldn’t ask for a better location. The view from the window in the living room from the Lautrec room was unbelievable. You had the adorable courtyard below and the closeup view of the Sacre Coeur straight ahead. There is also a shared kitchen that we did not use but looked very nice. The pictures of the Sacre Coeur below were taken from the window. The view is even better in person. We will definitely be back. 

Beautiful 

Two month's ago, we booked the Dali room at Les Ateliers de Montmartre. Traveling for business pretty much to Paris.We where  hoping to avoid the impersonal hotel rooms this time and were very excited to stay at the guesthouse of Mariam  in the middle of the Montmartre area. Arriving at the address, we spent time waiting and ringing at the exterior doorbell about 30 minutes in the pouring rain. Finally someone opened the gate, a friendly neighbor let us in, but unfortunately we were still not further than the courtyard. At the second door we began ringing and knocking again, again without any reaction for about 30 minutes. So I started calling the phone-number mentioned on the website. After a few attempts, Mariam took up the phone. I told her that we already stood 1 hour waiting in the rain, although it was 17.00 hours and we received a confirmation and even 50% was already taken from our creditcard. Then she told us that there was apparently a double booking for the Dali room, due to a website error but that the Lautrec room was still free.. Because we had no other choice at that moment, we agreed and received by phone the entrance code. Arriving at our room, the Lautrec room was smaller and cheaper, had no bath and was pretty dark, even the view to the Sacre Coeur, was minimized. The room was really depressing. The main problem there was no WiFi, to send our video images to our production studio.I tried to call Mariam again, without any result. So after 5 minutes we left the building, started our descent, again and went looking for an hotel with a spare room. Later in the evening, I send Mariam a mail, telling her that we left the room, and that I would warn, other people for not making the same mistake. Than she told me a heartbreaking story, that she couldn't react because she was on the funeral of one of her parents. I felt really bad for her and suggested that she should not refund my money, but that we would expect a discount on our second night on a subsequent visit to Paris a month later. That she agreed with. So   I've mailed her again a week later to confirm the date . No response ... during a week ?? So I've send her a mail again, asking  her to react!!! After a few mails ,this was her reaction ...(Her mail from the 22th of May)
"Hello Gil 
I have just flown in to paris tonight from a trip abroad for a family Emergency and have turned in my work phone. 
I have just seen this email I have not had time yet to read your  previous  emails. 
Please let me know your request and I will do my best to address it rapidly"

Again another Emergency, although she received my mail now, but she could not see all my other mails??? 
Finally I've asked my money back about 220 euro’s what she agreed on. In this mail received the 23th.

"I responded upon reception of your email. I will be going through my emails tomorrow when back at work given it is almost midnight here right now. 
 I have found this email with your bank details.please send me the swift code as well.  I will be making the wire transfer tomorrow. Sorry for the delay"

On the 28th and the 31th of May I've mailed her again, asking for my money. Today we are the 6th of June, still didn't receive my money back. Two months we are hoping for a solution now, we have lost half a day of our visit to Paris, searching for another room etc….

So please be careful, and don't make the same mistake we have made, for the price of 220 euro’s a night, you can book a lot of reliable and beautiful  hotel rooms in Paris. More info you can become when asked for.

A nightmare in Paris

Based on prior reviews, I decided to stay at Les Ateliers de Montmartre for about a week. The location of the hotel is great and the rooms are adequate. The notable downsides of the hotel itself are an animal smell in the common area and to a lesser extent in the room, and the fact that the wifi was not functional throughout my entire stay. The owners were made aware of the issue, but it remained unusable throughout my stay. 

The major issue involves communication with the owners. They were very communicative before I arrived, but have been unresponsive since that time. I requested a receipt so that my company would be able to reimburse me for my stay (>1,000 Euro). The owners initially responded saying that they would send a receipt in a few days, but it has been weeks and they have not responded to any of my inquiries about the status of the receipt. Thinking that this may have been some kind of technical issue, I emailed them from a different account, but still received no response. Thinking that perhaps there was some kind of technical or personal difficulty on the side of the owners, my colleague contacted them to ask about potentially staying at Les Ateliers and received a response. So it appears to be the case that they are specifically avoiding the request for a receipt, which seems strange. 

In summary: nice location, a bit overpriced for what the rooms are, wifi doesn't work, and owners are very unprofessional and unresponsive. 

Beware

This little B&B was incredibly peaceful and relaxing.  We had room 30, which had three windows that we could open wide to have amazing views of the Sacre-Cour Cathedral and enjoy the great street musicians that played in the afternoons and evenings.  We found that it was a fantastic respite to come back and take peaceful naps in the afternoon before going out once again to see the sights at night.  The room was spacious and very clean and comfortable.  The only slight negative was that the bathroom was up some stairs in the loft ... but it had a loveky skylight that you can open wide for fresh air and music and the tub is huge, so that made up for the slight inconvenience.  We wouldn’t hesitate to go back again ..and the neighborhood was great for easy food and wine, coffee, etc ...not to mention historic and picturesque! 

Oasis overlooking Paris

This is an absolutely lovely apartment in Montmartre with views of Sacre Coeur.  Better than in the photos! We stayed in the top floor apartment which is a good size with a very comfortable bed with cotton linen.  There is a chair and a small sofa too.  The furniture is all lovely to look at and comfortable to sit on and there are some interesting pictures on the walls.  The bathroom has an oval freestanding bath and shower attachment.  The apartment has been recently renovated and feels pretty special.  There is a well-equipped shared kitchen on the ground floor with milk, coffee, butter, jams etc.  The location is in central Montmartre just a few minutes from Sacre Coeur with incredible views across the city.  Montmartre is busy with tourists and artists with many bars and restaurants around the central Place du Tertre.  Just a few streets away you can wander what feels like a village in the city, lovely buildings and lots of greenery.  The host Mariam stayed in touch by email throughout our stay and lives locally so would have been able to help out with any problems.  She sent great recommendations of boulangeries and restaurants that were really helpful.  Highly recommended.

A suite with a view!  Gorgeous apartment that was super quiet, with chimes of Sacre Coeur and bird song.

The apartment is stunning situated at probably the best location you will ever find in Paris. Sacre Coeur is basically next door and the apartment opens up onto a street with buzzing markets and restaurants. The room is cozy & quiet and has comfortable queen bed, tv lounge and modern bathroom. The shared kitchen is also supplied with breakfast, coffee and all kitchen appliances and cutlery. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.
