Château de Castel Novel Boutique Hôtel

Beautiful, impressive building, full of character and history. We were greeted with warmth by Huw and given so much information about the history of the building and its famous occupants, in fluent English (thank you). The decor is wonderful sympathetically done, incorporating modern touches -fabulous, huge portrait of Colette. We loved our room, which had been very kindly upgraded to a suite! The bed was comfortable with quality linen and French windows with a double aspect. We had a short walk around the grounds and played giant draughts in the gardens. We had cocktails in the reading room and then dinner. Our compliments to the chef, it was one of the best meals we have ever eaten and presented beautifully. Star of the show was my sugared apple which was more beautiful than a Christmas Bauble and delicious. Lola provided an excellent service, very warm and professional with again, perfect English (very grateful). We left on cloud nine and will definitely return.
