We were very lucky to have chosen the Hessenburg with Kranich Hotel and Museum for our wedding reception. Each room is simply furnished differently, but all the best thanks to the wonderful facilities, the wonderful rooms, the warmth and the history that the table tells. The Barth State Office has a mourning room right in the museum, and in good weather the weddings are also held in the picturesque park. We and our wedding guests stayed for 2-5 nights in the different rooms. A dreamful wedding weekend in a very special atmosphere

After today (5.3.2023) a very commendable travel report about the Hotel Kranich and Museum appeared again in the Frankfurt General Sonntagzeitung, I would now like to give travelers a decision-making aid through this assessment. Everything about the location and architecture of the house on the relevant portals and in travel reports is correct. But breakfast is also included in a stay at the hotel (!) This would be a good breakfast, for example. Breakfast at the Hotel Kranich however, was a closet of cucumbers, tomatoes and paprika, a hard cold egg, since the days of good (whether weekly or weekly) breads and spices were kept at the discount point.

The architecture is great, the hotel is inadequate.

A wonderful relaxing stay in the garden house with a majestic view of the park. We felt like we were transported back to a long-forgotten time and all our wishes were granted.

Perfect break, very quiet and relaxing. Rooms were very high quality . The 2 Nd floor apartment (10) was very roomy with well appointed kitchen.  Friendly competent staff and lovely gardens.
Recommend a car, not much to see locally within walking distance.

Beautiful and  relaxing

It's a rough disappointment!!! After a path through a steep meadow - there's no road or light, through a slippery entrance there's a steep staircase up. In the kitchen everything is old, but acceptable, barely equipped. The bedroom is a dark room where you can barely reach the 140th bed from the second side. In the so-called living room you can only spend the evening on two small old basket chairs, which is a challenge for each back, or lying in bed, but you do it already. The whole furniture is wrapped together, the sad wardrobes were certainly sent decades ago. The price of 112.00 euros per day is absolutely inappropriate.

LIFE AS APPEARANCE, SPACE AS A DREAM
In a tiny village, surrounded by vast arable landscapes under a broad Baltic Sea sky, there is a manor house from the 19th century where the supreme idea of SPACE AS POETRY has found a home. 
Under big old chestnut trees sensitivity and compositional empathy created a "visual fugue". The organization of space and interior, the characteristics of the rooms (their old brick walls remained unplastered) move forward your very own narration, and allow you to travel in time. Architecture, contemporary art and the breathing landscape are in a close relationship and offer shifting subjective views and a perfect silent setting of thinking about ourselves.
There are six elegant, wonderfully inviting, spacious, warm hotel rooms on the ground floor and two beautiful suites in the attic (east/west). On the upper floor there is a museum with contemporary art (video works, sculptures, installations) open for guest 24/7. All works here were created specifically for the manor house and deal with the same topic - the crane, which moves through this Western Pomeranian landscape in late summer and autumn.
The Crane Hotel belongs to the art historian Bettina Klein. The American artist and architect Alex Schweder designed the interiors.
A very beautiful place. Absolutely recommended!

The Kranich Hotel is recommended to anyone who has little interest in standard hotels. The rooms are very beautiful and decorated without much snack. Located in the middle of nature, the former mansion offers plenty of time and peace to relax. Especially for cities looking for relaxation.

The Kranichhotel is a wonderful place for freethinkers, culture lovers, architecture enthusiasts and nature lovers who want to escape from everyday life and find peace. The hotel is a converted old mansion, which has remained in its type and only modern elements have been added. Every detail has been designed with much love and dedication and has been very well handled. One must have simply seen and experienced it. Our room was number 5 at the head of the Gotha. We had chosen it because a terrace with a view was worthwhile. The hotel is very nice to be on the terrace, but only modern elements have been added. A Wonderful Place to Slow Down

On my birthday this year, I had the desire to drive around Hessenburg to see which Kranich watched once. I got the Kranich Hotel in Hessenburg as a gift. It was supposed to be something special. Between 4 and 10 October, we lived in the Kutscherhaus. This turned out to be a small holiday home with no historical accessories and 2 holiday apartments right outside the Gutscherhaus. Upon arrival there was no Kranich to see which Kranich was audible and visible from the rooftop. The local farmers had actually cleaned all the fields and flushed through, uninteresting for each of us.

No hotel, much promised, little in reality

Forward. If you book this hotel and later complain about the architectural style and the situation, you have simply been misinformed beforehand. Here, 'in the middle of the pampa' with a lot of money, heart and love, an incomparable hotel has been built. The mix of rustic architecture, antiques and new is incomparably beautiful to me. But probably also according to the motto. You love it or you hate it. Our highlights: breakfast in the castle garden.
