When we arrived at around 3 :30pm and given our room key which would suggest the room was ready but on going up to the room it wasn't ready and the lady cleaning the room suggested we go and ask for a drink when we proceeded to do and then was charged for them which I wasn't happy about. 
After being able to go to our room we found we had no hangers that could be used so I went to reception again and asked for some hangers. At first I was told to use elastic bands and use them to wind around the rail to hold my clothes up as we were staying for 3 nights,I did comment that this was not acceptable and after about 10 minutes 3 hangers were found for us.
I also asked for the shower cubicle to be cleaned again as it was full of black scum so hadn't been cleaned properly for sometime I would suggest. On top of this the curtains had seem better days and were very tatty and dusty at the top and there was an awful smell in the stairway. 
I did explain this to the owner on Friday evening who come across very flipent about my concerns and offered us  free breakfast Saturday morning which we declined.
On Saturday morning my husband used the sink which is a pop up one but after filling the sink the pop up was stuck fast so we reported this to the owner who by the tone of her voice accused us of jamming the plug as if we had done this on purpose which wasn't acceptable. 
The rooms seem are tired and are in desperate need of an upgrade urgently in my opinion.
The outlook from our window was of old venting units and plastic building fencing pipes etc not a great look.
On a positive the bed was very comfortable. 
It was such a shame as we were so looking forward to staying there

As Hattons is often on our way home from our trips, we decided to give it another try (have previously (3 years ago) given a negative review due to inattention from the staff later in the evening). They have a couple of tables outdoors, a few under cover in a conservatory-type area, with the remainder indoors in the restaurant. Let's start on a positive - the food was excellent. Now the negatives - the two vacant tables in the 'conservatory' area had not been cleaned following prior diners, with food stuck on the wooden tops. Worse was the amount of food under the table that had not been swept up. Our starters and main courses were delivered promptly (even though the waitress got one of the starter orders wrong). Once we finished our main course, that was the last we saw of the staff (except one of them could be clearly seen chatting to a guy in the car park for an extended period). As in our previous review, there was no opportunity to order desserts or have our empty plates cleared away. We had to go into the restaurant to find a member of staff to pay our bill (we weren't the only guests eating in our area). Clearly, this is a case of a leopard not changing its spots. The service started out well but, as before, the staff completely lost interest as the evening progressed. The level of table hygiene is also unacceptable. Won't be back.

The food was good (but).....

Stayed at the hotel 4/2/23.  Booked a family room for myself and 5 year old daughter.  Check in was fine and staff were pleasant.  When we got to our room (room 3) we were met with a really bad smell in the room. The carpet was filthy, covered in smelly stains and could really do with being deep cleaned or replaced.  the room was very basic and had 1 double bed and a chair (not a family room), Patchy walls where there have been holes filled in.  bathroom was very dated with black mildew around the shower tray and scummy shower doors.  the toilet had a push down button that was broken and sprung onto floor every time it was flushed. the taps on the sink had bits falling off them.  Awful smell around bed area seemed to disappear now and again then come back. The hotel holds functions and have a public bar.  On the night we stayed there was a group playing and the noise in the room between doors slamming in the hallway at our room and music blaring until 1 am was awful.  No breakfast available until after 11am.  No staff to be found when it came to checking out.  Would rate this lower but we did have dinner in the restaurant and the food and staff were amazing, could not fault the food and the dining area was clean (unlike our room).

Not impressed

We stayed as a group of 8 for our friends 50ths & it was fabulous. Berna is a wonderful host, all the staff are very friendly & nothing is too much trouble. We ate in the bar and had breakfast and the food was very good & extremely tasty. Rooms v comfortable & clean. Great stay and would definitely recommend.

Friends 50th

My family and Friend stayed at Hattons Last week end to Celebrate our Dads 90th Birthday Celebration .
The Rooms were so comfortable  and the Breakfast top notch .
We hired their Function Room for 75 People for sit down meal and Party .Food was Scrumptious .
Would highly recommend anyone thinking of having a party or wedding in future to look at Hattons you won’t be dissapointed .The Garden off the Function room was great we could sit outside enjoy the Sunshine 🌞

Fab Stay at Hattons ..Rooms so Comfortable.Staff First Class Service

A very happy discovery, 30 km from Dublin but quiet and far from the hustle and bustle. Very nice room (a little steep staircase to access), very clean, large enough, bright, very well heated. Very good bed. We had dinner and breakfast: everything was really very good and very cozy, at a very reasonable price.

For those who come to visit the west coast of Ireland but have to land in Dublin (often late in the evening) finding a hotel 50km already on the west road is better than spending a first night in Dublin very expensive and difficult parking. Hotel Hatton is a little in the middle of nowhere but not less than the highway.. (about 6km) Dpnc very quiet and pei we wasted time to take the road the next day

Good choice of stage in Dublin

A nice discovery in the Irish countryside! a hotel about 30 minutes' drive from Dublin and immersed in the green. communications with the staff were fast and very precise by late at night the reception was closed but they had us find the keys and everything else to stay in large, clean rooms and a very comfortable bed! recommended
