Fabulous apartments overlooking Piazza Erbe. One of the best locations in Verona.
Fabio, the owner of the apartment's and also the adjacent bakery was not there when we arrived, but a visit to the bakery and a phone call from the lovely girls in there and Fabio arrived to check us into the apartment. We were given all the relevant contact details should there be any problems (there were non).
Pz Erbe can be very noisy on a night as it is directly opposite the bar Mazzanti and it is not uncommon for it to be busy at 02-00 am. Friday and Saturday nights are the most noisy.  But the double glazing and the window shutters eliminate most of the excess
noise.



best location in verona

We stayed a week in the Il Leone apartment, it is in the perfect location and Fabio could not have been more helpful, arranging taxi transfers for us, but the downside was inadequate cleaning when we arrived and poor sound insulation through the walls and ceiling. If you can tolerate these things this is a fantastic place to stay in a wonderful city. To be specific, there was black mould on the shower tiles and the floors were dirty, the facilities are minimal, we had to ask for a kettle and buy our own corkscrew and the cups and cutlery were dirty. The WiFi is very slow and there are no English language TV channels (if that bothers you). The apartment is very small, certainly too small for four people and we would not describe it as "luxury", but if you think of it as an hotel suite, in the perfect location, it's great, walk out every day to a fascinating city and every evening to a great choice of restaurants.

Not for everyone

I cannot recommend Residenza Madonna highly enough! After spending a few moments trying to find the entrance (which is just off Erbe square next to the Deutsch Bank), there was a sign on the door requesting that we enquired with the staff in the bakery next door. The ladies at the bakery called someone and told us to wait 10 minutes.

A lovely lady called Elizabetta then turned up to give us access and check us in. There is a lift for luggage in the building.  

Payment is taken for the apartments at check in. Credit/debit cards are accepted.

We stayed in a 1 bed apartment, facilities included:
- safety deposit box
- Air con in all rooms
- free wifi
- hair dryer
- iron and small ironing board
- microwave, kettle, coffee maker, 2 x electric cooking ring and all the utensils you need
- under counter fridge
- towels

The apartment was spotlessly clean and modern. Elizabetta explained the workings of the apartment and check out arrangements then left us to our own devices, with her contact details should we need anything.

The location of the apartments is fantastic...right on Erbe Square.  I still can't believe the view we had from the balcony, for the very reasonable price that we paid.

On check out the kind ladies at the bakery kept our luggage for us until we were ready to head to the airport (the owner of the bakery also owns the apartments), and Elizabetta phoned us a taxi. The taxi direct from the apartments to Villafranca Airport cost approx €30 (with 2 x suitcases). There is an airport bus that runs from Verona train station at €6pp but the train station is an average 20-30 minute walk from the apartments, so in the 34 degree heat we opted for the taxi transfer.

The pictures on tripadvisor are true to the apartments and I would definitely stay here again if I find myself in Verona again.

Fantastic Apartment

Everything about this apartment was perfect. It was modern, trendy and spacious. We took a 2 bed and a 1 bed on the same floor for our family of 4 adults and 3 children. Both apartments were air conditioned, which was such a relief given the heat wave in Verona when we were there. The location was fabulous, overlooking Piazza Erbe. The owner, Fabio, was out of town when we arrived, but he organised someone else to greet us at the apartment. I would definitely recommend these apartments to anyone travelling to Verona.

Great Apartment in a Perfect Location

Last year we stayed at the Academia Hotel in Verona and this year found ourselves visiting Verona again for one night. Having researched we fount these apartments with a wonderful location. Wow! When booking Fabio was great. On arrival we a little concerned that we'd be disappointed. Not at all. We had three apartments all with amazing balconies overlooking the amazing piazza. The rooms were comfortable and clean and left us all saying that we would much prefer to stay here than at the wonderful Academia. It felt like you own own place in the best location in this amazing city. And also, the wifi was perfect!

Also, awake at 6am, wondered into the living room and was amazed at the sunset view of the balcony. My wife and I loved it!
