Our family had a wonderful stay at the Solvorn Gjestehus. We had the suite and adjacent room for our kids. Both were spacious and comfortable. Our kids loved the yard and looked forward to playing with their kids as much as our excursions during the day! We chose to stay in Solvorn for its proximity to area hiking and the Jostedalsbreen Glacier. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of B&B! Thank you again!

My wife and I loved the Solvorn Ghestehus.  It is the one place in Norway that we would return to spend more time. We had room 1, off the downstairs living room.  It felt like our own home...so comfortable, and clean, and welcoming.  Being a guesthouse, and not a hotel, there's an atmosphere of "at-home-ness" and ease that we found inviting and refreshing.  We were struck with the quality of the furnishings, and the excellent taste of the decoration. Mingling with the other guests added to the experience...the family from Singapore, and the Norwegian woman from Oslo who educated us about trolls!  And then meeting Mara, our hostess, was an added plus. As well, the village of Solvorn was, for us, the best of all places we visited in Norway (Oslo, Alesund, Loen, Solvorn, and Bergen).  A sleepy little village on the fjord, off the main road, with little to do but hike (excellent hiking along the fjord!), and relax.

The guesthouse was lovely. I stayed in the single room right off the front door, but it was quiet as other guests were quite considerate. The furnishings were nicely simple and neutral while also being stylish, the bed was extremely comfortable and cozy, the bathroom nicely appointed. The village is adorable and close to many attractions. Mara stopped by to give me some homemade strawberry shortcake the night I arrived. Sadly I didn't get to meet her as I had just stepped out of the shower and she left it for me outside my room. (It was absolutely delicious!) What a welcoming gesture.

In agreement with the the other reviews, this place is quite the find. With over a month on the road throughout Scandinavia with our two daughters, our time in Solvorn proved to be the best - in no small part to this wonderful B&B. The quality of the rooms was top notch, and Mara was always there to help. I recommended it strongly to those looking for a little piece of heaven while exploring a quiet life amongst spectacular nature.

Well i can say a few things about this village .For one itd not far from the ferry dock to the hotel . just minuites walk .They have beer there at the desk if you like Norwegian suds . There is a great view to downtown over looking the village and fjords . They have a nice little restaurant for your breakfast and dinner time .Theh do a Norwegian menu too . The rooms are whats important here . Comfortable beds and romantic village with a quiet stay . Very helpful staff . There is a ferry boat that connects all the small villages on the fjords all day . So youf never stranded no where . My father was born in Norway 137 years ago in ARENDAHL .
