A beautiful spot right in town and near the fort. A lovely Gallein home with dark wood interior and beautifully furnished. Your host will make you feel at home, and the morning breakfast was absolutely incredible, and generous. Mosquito net around bed was a lifesaver, and you have your own little deck upstairs, outdoors. No complaints.

Beautiful colonial homestay

Upon arriving at Villa 234 we were amazed at how spacious the room was with a small balcony and very quiet but powerful air conditioning unit. The staff was pleasant and greeted us with a welcome drink. The grounds were well maintained and the pool area was nice. Unfortunately, the hotel had an old smell, the bathroom was not clean enough, the upstairs hallway was untidy with an old mattress laid up against a wall and a bunch of other stuff.  Also be aware that there is a train that runs right through the back of the house 'til pretty late at night.  Bring your ear plugs for a good nights' rest. The staff were nice and the breakfast was sufficient even for a vegan diet.  So if you're looking for a very budget conscious place to stay close to Galle and can over look some of the things mentioned, then enjoy the pool and stay a night here. But don't expect too much.  On a positive note, I didn't see any bugs in the bedroom even though there were a million red fire ants outside. *good wifi, good cable and a refrigerator downstairs that you can use

Budget Friendly with a Train

We really enjoyed our stay here last week and the staff were so good to us.  We wanted to move rooms and they were so accommodating to us and moved us straight away helping us with our bags and it just wasn’t a problem to them at all. THey were such kind people. One evening we got a tuk tuk from Galle and had a problem as we only had big notes and the driver didn’t have change. The host at the house helped us straight away and lent us the money again no problem at all. They were honestly so kind and the rooms are impeccably clean I really do recommend this place.

Lovely place with amazing staff

We had a good time at the villa 234. The pool was very refreshing ans they offered a variety of dinner options. The rooms were nice but there we're cockroaches running around the house sometimes. It is easy to reach via public transport (Bus) and a good place to stay.

Beautiful pool and outdoor setting to relax. We rented the budget room for $15USD and cant complain. Tiday and clean enough. Would recommend renting a room upstairs with A/C. Friendly staff. Below average breakfast. Recommend just flagging a tuk tuk and take note of location of villa as difficult to find at night.

Easy and relaxed enough.

We had the cheapest room, which was perfectly in order of size and cleanliness. The only problem was that the room was very clogged and smelled very wet. Even though we had the windows open all day, the smell just didn't go away. Positive was definitely the breakfast and the really super friendly staff on the site. Yes, English is pretty basic, but they try to be as helpful as possible. Unfortunately, the pool at our stay had just been renovated. Bad. You definitely need a tuk tuk or rental scooter on the spot. Perfect for a trip to the gallery or jungle beach. Next time we can probably take the better category. I'd recommend every stop there.

Very kind and helpful.

The villa is on the main Road- Galle Road outside of Galle. The access is easy but you need to take a bud or Tuk Tuk. The owner is nice and very helpful. His two helpers who try to assist do not know English and make the communication difficult. 
The rooms are nice and the pricing is reasonable. But we received a room upstairs that had no mirror and shelves in the bathroom. The bathroom is huge with a bathtub which you can‘t use it. There is aircondition and a fan. The room also had a balcony over the pool but without a sitting facility. The room was not clean and  ants were all over. Our room was also overpriced in regard to the others. 
Breakfast was ok but again you have to ask for fruit and Jogurt if that is was you like. Noodles for breakfast- that is really strange.
We still enjoyed the stay but have been at many better places. The pricing starts at $15 for a small room for a couple which is excellent. So I still recommend the place.
