Double One by Aspira

We stayed at Double one for 4 nights at the beginning of our Thailand trip. It was a decent hotel it didn't cost too much so we weren't expecting a lot, but it was ok. The bed was comfy and the shower was good, there were windows (with a view of the building opposite) although you couldn't open them, but it was needed as the air con was good. There was a little fridge with drinks and snacks in, they cost more then the shop but useful if you needed something. It didn't leave a lot of room to use the fridge for your own stuff though. They wanted a 500 baht deposit when we arrived, which was a bit of a shock to us. I am not sure if it may have said somewhere but maybe we missed it. However when checking out we were given the money back as there were no issues (I assume the phone call reception made was for someone to go and check our room). The location was good and there were nice restaurants and bars near by, we were able to walk up to Soi Cowboy on the evening which was a great experience. Nana train station is just over the road (you have to use the stairs to take the bridge over as you can't just cross the roads!) And a train from here took us to Phaya Thai station where we were able to get the BTS Skyline straight into the airport which cost about 180baht for 2 people and was great because it missed the heavy traffic. We were able to get the bus from over the road again (No.2) to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Centralworld (shopping centre with some food outside) and then from here we got the ferry across to Wat Arun. On reflection it was probably a more expensive place to stay, when we visited Khao San Road the drinks and food were a lot cheaper and may have been a good place to stay but then I'm not sure how easy it would have been to get to the airport.
