Recently renovated in 2024, Citadines 16 is now the go to accomodation for my Bangkok stays. Conveniently located close to the major BTS/MRT hub at Sukhumvit/Asok it's also next to the 24/7 Foodland supermarket and their popular restaurant. I found their 250฿ breakfast reasonably priced with eggs cooked to order, pastries, salad, fresh fruit and Asian specialties. Plus there's the free coffee maker on the ground floor where I get cappucinos before dining. Rooms include a full size closet with ample hangers, kitchenette and a small day sofa. There are huge coin operated washer and dryers on the 7th floor as well as a small gym and their refreshing roof top swimming pool. Unlike some less expensive accomodations nearby, the front desk is staffed 24/7 and unfailingly helpful. A bonus was the 2 p.m. checkout time. When booking, check their parent Ascott Star Rewards website. With a free membership prices sometimes dip below US$50 a night.
