Kantary House Hotel & Serviced Apartments 

We went to Thailand basically for the whole month of February, stayed in Kantary House for most of it except for 10 days in the middle as we had to go north. The location suited us as it's just off Ramkhamhaeng Road a main thoroughfare with just about everything you need on it. I believe the rooms are being upgraded a floor at a time. Presently they are still functional, clean and tidy but are in need of some modernisation. Ours had all we needed, including a room safe big enough to get my 15" laptop in and a washing machine which proved to be a godsend, clothes drying easy enough on the balcony. The public area's are spotless, contemporary, well air conditioned with an executive lounge which is hardly used. Entry is gained via your room card and there's tea, coffee snacks and cakes on the inside, lovely and quiet in there as well. All the staff are brilliant, cleaners, bell boys, waitresses, reception, all busting a gut to offer help. Special mention to Nutty and the lads in the restaurant, very attentive every night although she changed shifts to days as we left. The restaurant bears my one criticism of the whole place which is the cost of the drinks, just way too expensive which I'm 100% sure deters diners from using the restaurant. Now I don't tolerate gluten and they at least allowed me to take my own gluten free beer in, but mostly we dined more or less alone, so, if you're reading management, a 2/3 month trial of reduced priced drinks will boost the restaurant trade I'm sure so give it a go. The food meanwhile is great and well priced, the female chef (didn't catch her name) does a mean stir fried chicken and cashew nut in chilli sauce. Breakfast chefs so helpful with the gluten and dairy exclusion as well. Just brilliant staff throughout the hotel. Then we have the Cat. The cat I think was a stray that dropped anchor at the hotel and stayed for good. The security guards chip in to get it checked up at the vets and to feed it. Well, I know we shouldn't have but we took to buying it a tin of tuna every other day, probably more frequent than that and it knows when the tuna is coming. So if you're an animal lover, give it a treat every now and again and a tip to the security guard to help with the vets bills would be great as well.
