We chose Baankaew Guesthouse because we wanted a quiet, reasonably priced hotel in Chiang Mai. We were happy about the location-near some good massage places and restaurants, a half hour walk to the night market. The setting is pleasant but the beds are rather hard and the bathroom quite small. The best thing about the place is the friendly, professional staff who speak good English and are very ready to help. They telephoned for us to sort out a minor issue and wrote addresses in Thaï for taxis. They found the right pillow for us. The travel counselor is very helpful too.
