Tri Gong Hotel

HANDS DOWN, the BEST Hotel I have stayed in the " Old City", where a traveller can relax in a large, well maintained property as a solo traveller, or a family. Great for kids, outdoor green space off the street inside PEACEFUL courtyard, next to (AMAZING PERK!), a complete kitchen outdoor, under cover! I stayed in a large room on second floor, " Rm.208" , which offered more amenities than I personally have seen travelling elsewhere in Thailand (!) They have shampoo, bath gels, nice SOFT towels and bedding, great Air Con, ( always a factor for me..) My stay was arranged with the Hotel, online , and I received a friendly, welcome invite from the manager Mr. Adam. He was there to greet me upon arrival, and I LOVE that their staff is both kind and helpful...they deliver fresh toilet paper and two bottles of water per day, along with cleaning, allowing me to be, out and about, enjoying amazing sights, with no need for a car, bike ( unless requested!), or tuk-tuk! A five minute walk to Ancient Square, and surrounded by Wats, near a highly rated restaurant, ("Reform Cafe")...the quiet, courtyard retreat is safe, ( locking gate for after hour returns), the upstairs breeze -ways are furnished with large chairs hiding the heat of the day, and creating a tranquil experience. The lower rooms have two beds per room as well, for more family.I noticed they have a quiet older mini-Schnauzer, and yes, another larger dog ( younger though), so I actually ENJOYED (!!) seeing a " bit of home", in that regard. Both dogs stay with, Mr. Adam at all times, but I enjoyed seeing kids interact with them, and did so, myself!! The "BEST EXPERIENCE", WAS MR. ADAM VISITING ME IN HOSPITAL (!!!) I had left the U.S., with stomach issues, and checked into Chiang Mai Ram Hospital, having a three day check-up ..(Perk ! Hotel is five minutes from there, too!) I was only able to briefly email my distress, and I had left laundry with the service just across the street, ( Perk!!). MR ADAM NOT ONLY VISITED ME, BUT BROUGHT WONDERFUL SOUP AND SPECIALLY MADE BREAD, KNOWING I TRAVELLED ALONE!! I have travelled to numerous Countries, but, NONE, WHERE THEY ACTUALLY CARE, ( once paid!!) at the Hotel, about your actual IMPRESSIONS, EXPERIENCE AND YOUR LASTING MEMORIES!! My Hospital visit brightened my spirits immenely, due to their overwhelming kindness, and, GREAT PERSONAL SERVICE TO THEIR GUESTS!! If you want a great location, the ability to choose to prepare your own foods, a quiet, respectful environment which does NOT pressure you for sidetrips, ( though totally serviceable in that regard, as well,) then you should find yourself here. I enjoyed actually, the laughter of a toddler there, and did not mind, the dogs, nor remember the barking...if that is a problem, then trade for an impersonal chain Hotel on the main road, where, all you WILL hear, is, the sound of traffic...at steep prices!! Now, healthy, undoubtedly to, "special soup and bread", so kindly delivered with a Hospital visit, I WILL INDEED, BE BACK NEXT YEAR. BEST: The caring staff!!! Worst?? Trying hard here, but, unable...hmmm..ok, the fact that my stay was only 10 days!!
