It’s been eight long years since my last stay and I’ve noticed a lot of improvements. It’s still the same old friendly atmosphere . In fact some of the old staff reckon I haven’t aged a day ! You won’t need to pay for a workspace and trudge the steamy streets or dodge crazy tuk-tuk drivers as Madame Varada has created her own air conditioned workspace complete with desk top computers and free Wi-Fi. The rooms are still some of the best and cleanest in Chiang Mai . When I return home I want to install a bidet as they are super efficient. The temperature out of the showers is perfect. I’ve just brought a friend back from the night walking street in his first song-thaew ride and it only cost 50 baht . Just a real handy location but far enough from the madness of downtown. The beds are western style as are the toilets . Some lovely new restaurants have sprung up across the road so I’m going to leave you here as I’ve got another two weeks in CM and I’m going to indulge myself in a dish of tom yum goong for brekky. If you like the national dish of khao soy, a cafe down the road has a killer chicken recipe but you will have to take an electronic buzzer and wait in line as it’s that popular .
