I had a great stay the last time I was here and I had a very positive experience. The rooms were spacious and clean. The beds were also very soft and comfortable. As for food, there's none offered but the guesthouse is conveniently located in the city so finding food is an easy task.

Excellently clean rooms

It was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our whole trip to Thailand, it's a simple but very cozy and comfortable guest house, starting with the host, Pitty is an amazing human being, always caring and with a smile on his face, among his many kindnesses, we highlighted the fact that he picked us up personally at the airport when we arrived and when we left besides taking us to the airport, he prepared something to eat and so we didn't travel on an empty stomach (and all for free). Speaking of the room, it's MUCH CLEAN and the cleaning is impeccable, the bed is extremely comfortable and everything works very well...in the hostel, it couldn't be, in the heart of Old City, with everything very close (excellent dining, it's great houses, it's great prices, it helps us to go back to Monkey, and we'll go back to the funky restaurants, and we'll go back to Monkey, and then we'll go back to Monkey, and then we'll go back to Monkey, and then we'll go back to the

It's an incredible experience!

Stay in Chiang Mai

Cant recommend this place enough.... clean, large room and lovely owners. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and spent 8 days sleeping here. Perfect location just down from thaepae gate, and the new owners were brilliant. Nothing too much trouble and very helpful. I wish them all the best and have no doubt they will be full every night as I loved the place..

Amazing place

New owners started at this business the day we were leaving. David and Nuey the previous owners were fabulous. Always available for advice on where to dine and visit or just a friendly chat. Our large room had efficient air conditioning and a small balcony with a clothes airer. It was only a few minutes walk to the cafes and markets in the old town of Chiang Mai. An inexpensive option if you don’t need a resort. Be prepared to climb stairs to your room. We requested the room on 1st floor. 

Great location

We had spent 3 days at the Funky Monkey, finally, we stayed 6 days! We were super welcomed by David and Nuy, so after a few days we felt like we were at a friend's house! They gave us really good advice, in terms of what to see in the city, surrounding activities (special mention of the super day in the national park with Sakorn), restaurants, listening and giving advice tailored to our needs... The room is very spacious, very comfortable, well equipped; even if the dining room could be modernized.

It's a great stay.

The guest house itself is super well placed (bars, restaurants diverse, 7 Eleven), spacious room, comfortable bed. But what really makes the charm of this accommodation is the kindness and availability of the owners. The explanations, conversations, laughs all these little things helped make my stay in Chiang Mai memorable. The secret handmade map by David is a real plus that shows that Nuy and David love what they do and are happy to make contact with the customer, it feels so obvious and it makes a difference.

We had a great stay at funky monkey. David and Nuy made us feel at home. They gave us great tips on how to get around Chiang Mai. They also organized some unforgettable trips for us. It felt like visiting family
The rooms are huge, the beds are very comfortable and the AC is good. 
Would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting an authentic Chiang Mai experience. 

Fun holiday 

From my welcome, through my departure I can not say enough positive things about this guest house.  Spotless, helpful loving hosts, location, arranged tours and activites - I can only hope every travel experience in my future will  be as rewarding.  David and Nuy set the bar high for others offering a small guest house experience.

Great from beginning to end

I felt like I had come home when I stepped into Funky Monkey. Nuy greeted us with her gorgeous smile and a very welcome cold drink. David sat with us and took us over a map showing us many attractions and places to eat. There are stairs to your room but lots of help with your bags. The room ws huge, light, airy, cool and clean. Unlimited water supply in you room fridge, tea and coffee. Beds were oh so comfortable. Aircon and fan. Good tv reception. Lovely bathroom, big shower with hot hot water. Rooms are serviced every day. Nuy and David could not do more to make your stay with them a wonderful experience. Nuy will cook you a meal from 8am until 3pm. Her meals are varied and beautiful. Fruit available free at all times. Congratulations Nuy and David for making a home away from home for travellers. Thanks for the great chats David.
